    Well, one of my offseason predictions has come true already - Teo being traded Nimmo signing and a catcher trade would make it the trifecta.

    Teoscar for Swanson + Adam Macko Seems light to me. Swanson is legit but Macko is kind of a lottery ticket. starting Position player for reliever + Lottery ticket just rubs me the wrong way

    9:49am: TSN’s Scott Mitchell tweets that the Blue Jays will be getting bullpen help in return for Hernandez. Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times tweets that known trade candidate Chris Flexen is not a part of this deal. Can't be JUST pen help, there's gotta be more to it than that.

    I always hate seeing the initial tweets without the return being known. Drives me crazy with anticipation! Also, I dont want Flexen at all, dude cant miss bats to save his friggin life.

    THat puts the Jays at exactly 40 active players, looks like they won't be selecting anyone in the Rule 5 draft unless a trade happens between now and then.

    Zimmer and Tapia officially have been DFA'd. The Blue Jays have designated outfielders Bradley Zimmer and Raimel Tapia for assignment. Toronto also released left-hander Foster Griffin. In corresponding moves, the Jays selected the contracts of righty Yosver Zulueta and infielders Addison Barger, Spencer Horwitz and Orelvis Martinez.

    Yeah, trading him isnt the end of the world, it wouldnt really surprise me, but non-tendering him would just be patently dumb.

    Why non-tender a 2-3 win player that's cheap and will likely see a wee bit of a boost with the shift rules next season. He's basically the left handed version of Whit Merrifield, with slightly less defensive prowess. Biggio is a guy you defiinitely dont want to ditch for nothing if you dont have to.

    Might be 2025 but yeah, cannot wait until the ump shows are a thing of the past and the last out of the World Series gets decided by a ball/strike challenge.

    I don’t see why Pittsburgh would even looking at moving them. While they will get progressively more expensive the next few years, they have plenty of room to keep both and still be in the 100 million salary range as a team, which they were at not too long ago.

    You’re forgetting that the player has to be willing as well. Vlad should have been able to get in near perfect shape after 2 off seasons, but he hasn’t. Losing weight is honestly not that hard once a person figures out what works for them. But they have to want to

    I didn’t notice any real difference in his body. I know both he and Vlad were working on that s*** and there was the announcement of how much Vlad had lost, but I’m skeptical as to the real numbers. Vlad and Kirk both got slower in relation to league average, not exactly indicative of significant weight loss.

    Probably yeah. Though i dont think Houston is looking for a 2 year stop-gap with Maldonado only signed through 2023. I bet they're out shopping for a guy they think can be their COTF after spending a year with Maldonado in some sort of 60/40 role. They'd be looking at Kirk or Moreno from the Jays. What they would be willing to part with is another question entirely.

    No brainer move but the Jays have picked up the option for Anthony Bass.

    Yeah, as much as it wouldnt be the end of the word if Espinal was traded... he's exactly the kind of guy a contending team needs on the bench or even as the bottom half of a platoon. Glove is great all over the infield, bat is really good facing lefties and not embarrassing against righties. He'll be a positive win player and most importantly, he'll be cheap.
