  1. and here's the other Sierra that wore 14 that wasn't Ruben.
  2. I think the thing I dislike about St Louis the most, is how they always seem to end up getting competitive balance picks, when they're clearly not a team hurting for money. It's like they have all the benefits of a large payroll team in that they can retain or sign any free agent they want (within limits) and then get handed a few extra picks even though they continue to do well in the standings. Not hard to succeed when they have the best of both worlds.
  3. My gut reaction is no, but... id have to do a deeper dive on some things before arriving at a conclusion
  4. I dont get emotional about it anymore at all, but those were the younger days when emotion ran high before logic and intellect asserted itself.
  5. I was legit pissed when they traded Green. Right after his only all star season, he and Delgado has just cemented themselves in the middle of the lineup.... but of course at that point i was never really following anything other than the on field stuff, so had no idea about the sale of the team and the ******** that was about to happen.
  6. McCoy was my first thought too, but yeah wasn't there the year this was taken, it was 2008.
  7. My guess is Joe Inglett, as the caption from the pic where i found it says its Marco Scutaro... but that doesnt look anything like Scutaro.
  8. 6 interesting names there for my money. Hernandez, Fernandez, Francis, Juenger, Robberse and Tiedemann
  9. "Trip from a-ball to the majors is often done in 2 years no matter what the players age" - this really doesn't happen all that often overall for MILB players. There's hundreds and thousands that never even sniff the majors. Though I think maybe youre meaning, of the players who eventually make the majors, they often make the jump from Aball to the majors in 2 years. That would be more accurate.
  10. Makes Dalton born 9 months and 1 day after his dad's last game.
  11. Yeah that old park was murderous on hitters. Left field was 340, at least RF had a break at 325
  12. Yeah the pic i posted was a series a few months after the whole "HA" thing from A-Rod. Arod got thrown behind by Litsch in the first game of the series, then hit by Towers in this game (hence the pic), Matt Stairs tried to get after ARod but was held back by someone... then Clemens hit Rios square in the back later on. I think the benches cleared like 4 times that day. Was the same game wehn Joba Chamberlain made his MLB debut.
  13. I hope you get to see him too, will need some reports from our scout on the ground
  14. The thing is, the Jays played it completely wrong in their haste which was the only reason they had a chance at the triple play. Pendleton, who started at 1b on that play with Sanders at 2b, went all the way around second and PAST Sanders who was actually holding up to see if White would catch it or not, so Pendleton was already out. The cutoff man (alomar) had no reason to throw back to 1b to get Pendleton, but because they did.... Sanders, who was tagging at 2b, tried to advance to third so Olerud then threw it over to Gruber who ran down Sanders and the ump botched the call. Had Alomar just gloved the throw from White and walked it in without throwing to first needlessly, there would not have even been a chance at the triple play.
  15. jays that can play CF - Varsho, Springer, KK, Merrifield and Lopez Jays that can play the corner OF - all of the CF, plus Biggio 3b -Chapman, Espinal and to far lesser extent if there’s an emergency Biggio. SS- Bo, Espinal, Lopez 2b - Merrifield, Espinal, Biggio, Lopez 1b- Vlad, belt, Biggio C - Jansen, Kirk, Varsho Every position has at least 3 guys that can play it
  16. I don’t think they all need to be exact, but there shouldn’t be a massive difference in the distance from home plate to any wall of the outfield. The fact that some parks you can hit a HR that’s like 30-40 feet shorter than the same spot in another park makes little sense. Not mandating an exact footage is fine but at least legislate a minimal range of distances to the corners, power alleys and dead centre. It’s not impossible to add character to a ballpark without massively screwing with wall distance and height
