  1. Would be nice to get 3 innings or so out of Aumont given how bad he is.
  2. More washed up old guys, Albers hasnt thrown yet, and some guy named Onyshko.
  3. gloves in your pocket will do that to ya. Oh and... racist.
  4. True, it was a pretty nice meatball to go at, just unfortunate timing when Robson was so far in the clear and him fouling it off.
  5. Robson would have stolen 2nd by a mile, hitter should have taken that strike. Was definitely not a hit and run
  6. He became a Mexican citizen last year though so he can definitely play for them.
  7. Thats like a good news/bad news scenario. Good news! You're our opening day starter! Congratz! Bad news! You pitch for the Pirates
  8. Thought the exact same thing, the double pump cost them a run. runner was slowing up then got the send with the double pump. no reason to even do that either.
  9. s***, that was a nasty pitch
  10. Yes. Something like that is a pretty fine line. Someone playing out a "rape fantasy" isn't actually being raped since it's consensual. The thing is before doing something like that, there has to be clear lines as to what is allowed, what isn't, safe words etc. Even if it goes 95% according to plan and then the guy (or girl) ends up doing something outside the agreed upon boundaries, then it crosses into rape and assault.
  11. Pretty sure Perdomo never threw a 95 mph 4 seamer when he was with the Jays farm system. **edit** I was wrong, he was up to 97 back then. Damn.
  12. Perdomo's pickoff moves looks very much like a textbook balk.
  13. Mexico is in a weird spot, win and they are in and probably the 1 seed of the group. Lose and they are out. So it's either #1 or go home.
  14. Lukes and Lopez both making it a hard decision who gets the last bench spot. ya love to see it.
  15. I think the WBC just needs to tighten up the # of generations it takes to be able to play for a country. Like Austin Barnes plays for Mexico because his grandparents were born in Mexico on his mothers side. But at the same time, would Barnes ever have a chance to play at a WBC for the USA? unlikely. So im pretty torn on how strict the rules should be on who you can play for.
  16. Yeha probably. Maybe he goes 6th and Varsho 7th. It's kinda weird that with all the lefties they brought in, only 1 will be hitting in the top 5 or 6 in the lineup and the flexibility is really just for the bottom. Im sure Schneider will move guys around depending on their hot streaks and other guys days off that they will get some PAs towards the top but overall, the only lefty I'd want in the top 4 or 5 consistently would be Belt.
  17. Just pop in Springer for Merrifield and that's your top 6 against RHP in the regular season too.
  18. I actually love that Orelvis is polarizing the evaluators. Seems everyone believes in his D profile being 3b and that he will be fine there defensively, everyone believes in the power - but the class is split on whether he can make the adjustment on his swing decisions. If he even makes 50% improvement on that, he's probably a future 50. If he improves more than that in that area, probably a 60+
  19. There's nothing really wrong with the list IMO. Beyond the obvious top 2... everyone else is either at a high enough level that you know what youre getting, or low enough that there's still such a wide variety of outcomes that you wouldn't really expect impact players. They do mention Nunez at the bottom of the article in their "Power-Over-Hit Fliers" Rainer Nunez, 1B - Nunez is a huge-framed 3B/1B who is almost certain to be first base-only at maturity. He’s kept his K rates under control so far, but his righty-hitting first base profile means he has a high bar to clear. Zach Britton, OF - Britton has above-average bat speed but a 40 hit tool. Sebastian Espino, 3B - Espino has a 70 frame and a great-looking swing, but he has no feel for the barrel. Reallistically, Nunez has a profile that every team has like 5 of in the minors so its kinda hard to be excited about him.
  20. Urquidy for Mexico today vs some guy named Zastryzny for Canada. Z looks like a career minor leaguer, lefty, has had a few sips of coffee in the majors since 2016 totalling about 38 innings, mostly in relief and pitched to a 4.42 xFIP. 7.9 k per 9 and about 4 bb per nine. Looks like fastball, change and slider guy. Here’s hoping he pulls a Skirrow and holds it together as long as he can.
  21. Well Mexico won 2-1, which pretty much means Canada needs to win to move on.
  22. Is that a sure thing though? Mexico could then still beat Canada and both teams would be 2-2 along with GB, which means they’d go to that runs allowed / outs recorded tiebreaker between the three teams. That would not favour Canada at all since they’ve allowed 8 runs plus whatever they hypothetically give up vs Mexico with 1 mercy shortened game against GB. In that scenario above it would likely be Mexico advancing unless GB really blows them out, which is pretty unlikely.
  23. you are correct in that they would want to get team permission. He threw 37 pitches so he wouldn’t have any WBC restrictions on him. He would have had to throw at least 50 to be mandated to have 4 days off
  24. Jay Jackson still hasnt given up a run this spring. Might be in line for getting his contract purchased at some point this season if he can stay healthy in Buffalo.
  25. That'll do nicely!
