  1. I’m sure he knows how much power he has, he is him after all.
  2. Another decent showing from Kikuchi, the numbers say he didn’t have his best stuff early but made and adjustment and got it done. Still had 14 swings and misses too.
  3. Varsho smashed that double at 109 mph
  4. In a vacuum…no. But to get the Jays from a 90 - 92 win team that might make it through a wildcard to a possible division winner that can make a deep run, the situational issues that plagued the Jays in the past few seasons needed to be improved. Varsho helps address that without giving up massive offense
  5. Varsho’s whiff rate is only slightly worse than league average, 45th percentile. Contact is not really his issue I do agree with you though, I would not have Varsho hitting 5th.
  6. Merrifield reaches on error by Bohm, CHappy scores
  7. Varsho just missed that one, got a sac fly though.
  8. Biggio ripped a line drive into RF after a Bichette single, but thrown out at second. Bichette at 3rd
  9. Kikuchi losing his command in the 2nd, nearly all of the misses are up out of the zone, even with the breaking balls and change. Got Marsh looking to end the threat, and looked like he figured out what the problem was. Everything was in the zone or down rather than up.
  10. I don’t know much about the divorce laws in the DR, but I suspect the vast majority of Vlads wealth will be earned after the marriage. Sure he’s already set for life, but the 7 figure payday is still to come.
  11. Statcast new catcher "blocking" metric for balls in the dirt. https://www.mlb.com/news/danny-jansen-alejandro-kirk-statcast-s-catcher-blocking-metric?game_pk=719193 https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/catcher-blocking?game_type=Regular&n=q&season_end=2022&season_start=2022&split=no&team=&type=Cat&with_team_only=1&sortColumn=diff_runner_pbwp&sortDirection=desc&players=668939-2022-110%2C672386-2022-141&selected_idx=1 Jansen is certifiably nuts, and i like it. “There’s nothing better than wearing a ball,” Jansen said. “Wherever it may be -- it might be your neck -- it sucks, but at the same time, you’re preventing a guy from going to the next base. It’s great, man. Who wouldn’t want that?”
  12. Both teams were playing the B and C squad today, it was a boring game to watch
  13. Search for the scores for guys with much fewer IP and you'll some really low numbers. Some are almost tragic
  14. The scale is the same as any other 100+ scale. 100 is league average, 90 is 10% below league average, 110 is 10% higher .... etc etc. Heh, the fastball stuff score on Striplings fastball is sooo bad, but the stuff score on his changeup is +136.
  15. Yup. It would be great to see the TV numbers in some of these countries. I saw something online that at one point 48% of Japanese homes had the China/Japan game on.
  16. And no need to fear guys, all of those girls on the dugout are over 18.... really, they are!
  17. Jimmy Robbins is definitely winning the "Robbie Ray tight pants" award for today.
  18. Robberse is in. Looking pretty decent. Cant tell anything on velo since the NESN feed doesnt show the radar gun
  19. anyone else having problems with the mlb.com site? I can get there for a second then it flashes and goes blank. Cant even access game info on baseballsavant either
  20. Planning the parade route as we speak.
  21. The story fits for Kikuchi too. Excellent stuff+, crap location +. Stop throwing it 50% of the time and it's weakness is better hidden
  22. nah, this is just a throwaway day to give the big guys a day off. There's only 2 players at all in the lineup that have even the slightest chance of breaking camp with the Jays as the 26th man, Bernard and Lukes. Not sure who the pitchers are lined up behind Thompson though.
  23. Yeah it would be pretty bad optically if he plays in limited games in ST between now and the second round of the WBC (for them that's March 18th) and they allow him to go.
  24. naw, that's still a massive reach given the injury potential of their rotation. Not to mention their lineup is still thin as f*** aside from Seager and Semien. I think the best value play there is the Rays.
