  1. It's probably just the Jays trying to capitalize on the Yanks having 0 LHP available for the game tonight since Peralta has pitched the last 2 games. I'm mildly shocked Lukes isn't in there somehow.
  2. April 21 Vladdy - 1 Point - Jonn Bichette - 1 Point - jaysblue, Abomination Chapman - 1 Point Varsho - 2 Points - Dylan Springer - 2 Points -Omar Belt - 3 Points Kiermaier - 3 Points - JohnHavok Jansen - 4 Points - JaysAllMighty, wilko Biggio - 4 Points - Bones Off the bench: 10 Points Updated with Bones pick
  3. Woops! LOL Cant do much but laugh about that one. Gomes wanted to make that play so bad... hell even if he succeeded in jumping over him Smyly wouldnt have been able to throw it since Gomes would still be right there in the way
  4. All 3 games in Houston were very well done by each ump. Whos got the GDT tonight?

  6. 2016-2018 was a pretty nice run
  7. I hurt just watching that arm action. Can see how it creates a lot of deception. Repeatability would be difficult and its easy to see how he could lose his release point pretty easily. As a hitter, it would be a pretty uneasy feeling to see all of that flying at you and trying to pick up a ball out of his hand.
  8. I honestly dont know where I stand on this... it was rosin and sweat, which is allowed... but it was past what they think it should be, so he gets suspended, but the Yankee gets caught, doesnt change anything after being asked and stays in the game. I don't understand one situation vs the other.
  9. Portland and Charlotte metro areas are not that far apart in population, maybe a few hundred thousand, but nothing substantional. I was looking at it the other day arguing with my brother about expansion teams and it was like... 2.6 million Charlotte to 2.3 Portland or something.
  10. 65 pitches, 41 strikes, the 4 hits gave up were 3 singles and a double. 1 ground out, 1 flyout along with the 7 Ks.
  11. Jesse Barfield Homer Bush... almost
  12. If they could find a space near Stanely Park or something, that would be great, I just don't know what kind of real estate is even available down town, or even across the inlet in North Vancouver. Having the Lions Gate Bridge nearby would be cool for scenery and it would certainy need to be near a SkyTrain hub.
  13. I agree, you just never hear any rumblings from VAncouver of anyone even remotely interested in heading up an effort to get a team there. They have the same kind of stadium issues as Montreal too, an old dump that could be used (BC Place) but isn't ideal.
  14. Grand Prairie, Alberta.... close.
  15. Is it a coincidence that all 3 ejections over sticky stiff since they started checking have been done by Cuzzi?
  16. See what you did? Cursed the kid with that horrible pun.
  17. Good God, it was 2-1, bases loaded with nine out after the Lukes walk, then I went to the gym for 30 minutes. I come back it’s 8-1. Wtf just happened?
  18. Biggio is a tough guy to judge though over 33 PAs where his babip is .176. There's so much random s*** in that sample size... his K rate is slightly up, his walk rate is slightly down... He could have 2 games going 3/4 and his numbers would look normal again just with the sample size. I dunno, I'm sure with him it's well past the point of him being expected to be anything but a stop gap/multi-positional utility guy. He's still an excellent baserunner for what it's worth.
  19. Clearly they have no plans to win this year with this kind of fun happening in the dugout
  20. Over the past week he's a 131 OPS+ with a couple doubles and has a 6 game hit streak with 3 of those games being multihit games. Im not saying it's right or wrong to be playing him, just thinking that's probably what the Jays are doing, riding the hot hand while the other guy (Biggio) struggles I will say though I'd rather see Biggio in the OF than Lukes. Lukes probably better defensively since he plays CF, but Biggio is the better stick for sure.
  21. If it's a scheduled DH day for Springer, Belt just has to sit unless Vlad is getting a full day off. The rationale for Merrifield in at 2b over Biggio is probably just that Merrifield is hot and they want to ride it ... and figure Lukes in the OF and Merrifield at 2B is better defensively than Biggio at 2b and Merrifield in RF. Speculation on my part a bit I guess.
  22. It's like he has this little pause in his swing right now, I dont know how to fully describe it but its like he starts his weight transfer, and just hold his hands back for another split second like he's trying to decide whether to swing or not, then cuts it loose and he's already late. I think his issues are with trying to wait too long
