  1. Bunting for the 7 or 8 hitter? That seems unwise.
  2. Jesus Cordero is jacked. Can we get a urine sample?
  3. I’ve seen pens suck before, but this has got to be suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.
  4. f***ing garbage Mayza but got out of it. Lucky f***
  5. Pitch 3 was a strike. f***ed by the ump
  6. And now Mayza can’t throw strikes. Is he scared of Rizzo or something?
  7. I'm really over seeing Varsho in the 3,4,5 spots in the order. He's just not that guy. He's a 6-9 guy, stick him there until he heats up again, then move him up.
  8. our 3, 4 and 5 hitters just had incredibly terrible PAs. Cole is good but come the f*** on.
  9. Naw it was fine. The zone on the telecast is smaller than the real zone for some reason. Savant has the pitch clearly at the top of zone.
  10. Whoever keeps going to these shots from behind the catcher can f*** right off. once in a while is fine, but every single PA doesnt need that BS view.
  11. of course, the like 3rd worst thing that could happen .. IF Fly.
  12. If the Jays cant score here after 2 errors, it is proof the universe just hates them.
  13. And it's official, German suspended 10 games for having stickier hands than wilko after perusing the Sports Illustrated Martha Stewart spread.
  14. The only upgrade on Espinal the Jays have... Biggio.
  15. Bichette - 1 Point - Chapman - 2 Points - Varsho - 2 Points - Dylan Springer - 2 Points - Belt - 3 Points - mphenhef Kirk - 4 Points - JaysAllMighty, JFL19 Jansen - 4 points - Stangstag, JohnHavok Merrifield - 5 Points - Espinal - 6 Points - Off the bench: 10 Points - wilko
  16. Bichette - 1 Point - Chapman - 2 Points - Varsho - 2 Points - Dylan Springer - 2 Points - Belt - 3 Points - mphenhef Kirk - 4 Points - JaysAllMighty, JFL19 Merrifield - 5 Points - Kiermaier - 6 Points - Espinal - 6 Points - Off the bench: 10 Points - wilko, Stangstag
  17. That's what day-to-day means.
  18. It's one of Vlad's faults, he's so ready to make an impact he just gets into swing-happy mode and decides that he can do damage on anything, and ends up swinging at junk. Even that double the other day where he broke the bat and hit the ball twice... it was a terrible pitch to swing at up and in. He just got stupid lucky in the result.
  19. Yeah that oversized mouthgaurd is a turn on for sure.
  20. If you get ejected for a sticky violation its automatic 10 games suspension.
  21. Mystery of Aaron Judge glance is solved. https://theathletic.com/4526717/2023/05/17/yankees-aaron-judge-blue-jays-tipping-pitches/ Paywalled, so ill give you the condensed version. "Before Jackson came to a set position, he brought his hands up near his ear as he gripped the ball. The grip, indicating which type of pitch he was about to throw, was visible to Yankees first base coach Travis Chapman, according to multiple Jays sources." From Jackson “It was (less) my grip when I was coming behind my ear. It was the time it was taking me from my set position, from my glove coming from my head to my hip. On fastballs, I was kind of doing it quicker than on sliders. They were kind of picking up on it." Blue Jays manager John Schneider said “he didn’t see anything” with his team’s catcher, Alejandro Kirk. It's also the reason they were being so attentive to the yankees 1b and 3b coach positioning, thinking that had they been in their boxes, they wouldnt have been able to pick up on it as clearly.
  22. Well yeah, nobody wants to throw a bad pitch. It's just that Gausman and Swanson's repetoire is so similar, just the fastball and slider for Swanson are probably even less effective than Gausman's. Both guys splitters are evil. I was moreso just wondering if a reliever following a starter with nearly identical pitches, when some of those pitches are worse than the starters, is at some sort of disadvantage due to the batters having already seen it all game long. As for the pitch selection... there's only two places where you can really get judge out consistently..., hard fastballs up and out of the zone, and sliders low and away. Obviously they were going for the slider low and away and he just threw a bad one. Looks like they were trying to throw to the hitters weakness rather than going with the pitcher's strength.
  23. Just wondering if a guy that throws fastball/splitter is the best choice to follow a guy they’ve seen all game that also throws fastball/splitter. Might have diminished Swanson’s effectiveness. No idea if that’s a real thing or not
  24. Yeah…espy has been incredibly sub par in the batters box this season. Even then, why is he swinging at a pitch way low in the zone when you know the only thing you’re gonna do is roll over it. Gotta take that strike and hope you get a better hittable pitch next
