  1. If not too late gimme KK
  2. Yeah true. Even with basic expected regressions to the mean both up and down from where everyone is now, the offense should be fine.
  3. Yeah, Merrifield's hitting is exactly what they thought they might be getting, he;d be the jack of all trades to spell the other guys when they need a day off, especially against lefty starters - but everyone else has been so ass that he's probably in there more often than they'd like.
  4. Im so torn right now, I really think for the Jays to be true long term contenders they need both Bo and Vlad, and if they only keep one... i'd probably rather sign Bo But then, if vlad ever figures out a consistent solution to the launch angle problem... he's 45+ HRs annually...
  5. More like the projections with Varsho have a higher error bar - he's never hit higher than 106 wRC+... so comparing his actual vs his career seems more appropriate in his case since his ROS projections dont really add up to me. Varsho is in a bit of a dip, the rest are in the grand f***ing canyon. Kirk could probably be given some slack there too given he hasnt even hit 1000 PAs, but his major league track record is much much better than Varsho's with the bat that his current mark being where it is is far more surprising
  6. They'd probably be wise to package some of those guys and get some pitching that doesnt suck.
  7. Jays end of season wRC+ in 2022 - 117 Currently in 2023 - 105 Definitely worse so far. Yet the aspects of the offense that are dragging it down are just drastic and hopefully unsustained underperformance of several regulars and bench bats. (2023 wrc+ / career wRC+ / ZIPS projected wRC+ ROS) Kirk (93/120/124), Jansen (69/95/100), Biggio(13/100/92), Espinal (31/96/88), and Springer (69/132/118) are all way way off their career norms and projections. Belt is slightly off, but coming off injury like his not sure his (108/124/122) would be considered drastic underperformance, but maybe just the sign that he won't be him anymore. Varsho (86/98/116), slightly off but not drastically. Overperformers are Bichette (150/126/124) Chappy (153/121/126) KK (153/99/96) Vlad (149/135/141) Merrrifield (87/102/87) is about where you think he would be. The biggest culprits are simply Springer, Jansen and Kirk combined (since they're getting way more PAs than the next two) and then the collossal black hole that has been Biggio and Espinal combined.
  8. Damn if he could bring that hammer curve consistently he'd be one hell of a back end reliever.
  9. Escrow is something they get either all of or a good sized chunk of back at the end of the season once the final annual revenue dollars are known. This is necessary due to the agreed upon 50/50 revenue split between ownership and the players.
  10. f***ing kid will be in the bigs next season. Book it. Unreal numbers from him right now. Trout's 18 year old Numbers at High A: .306/.386/.434 with 27 walks, 33 Ks, 4 HR. OPS .821 over 232 PAs. 15 Total extra base hits Holliday at 19 in high A: .388/.500.702 with 15 walks, 14 K, 3 HR. OPS is 1.202 over 82 PAs with 11 extra base hits. Monster in the making.
  11. Naw, Teo spent all of like 100 PAs in the jays minors before he was a regular. I wouldn't truly count him as a Jays developed OF.
  12. Naw, my brain remains flexible to new ideas. Literally 0 people complain about Bassitt spin rates or the shape of his pitches yet Buck rambles on about how analysts do it “all the time” like people think Bassitt sucks or something. Bassitt succeeds because he’s a unicorn and can throw 7 different pitches with varied velos that break both in, out and down to both side hitters from 70 to 95 mph with command and you simply cannot predict what he’s going to throw so batters can’t really get a read or gear up for a certain pitch. If every pitcher could throw all those pitches with any semblance of command they would.
  13. I’m so over listening to Buck Martinez talk about baseball. Dinosaur
  14. CHappy back to swinging outside the zone. Ice cold
  15. Chappy almost knows! - woulda been a HR at Skankee stadium...
  16. Bichette Bomb ! Abom +1 +1
  17. Springer starting to look like he's getting that timing back, not quite there yet though.
  18. That sinker to Lemaheiex is where he wanted the Judge pitch. Would it kill him to miss a mistake just once though?
  19. Berrios didnt read the part in the scouting report to not throw middle-middle sinkers to Judge.
  20. May 18 Bichette - 1 Point - Abomination Chapman - 2 Points - JaysAllMighty, Omar Varsho - 2 Points - jays4life19, Dylan Springer - 2 Points Belt - 3 Points Kirk - 4 Points - Stangstag Jansen - 4 Points - JohnHavok Merrifield - 5 Points - wilko, Candy Maldonado, Gen.Disarray Espinal - 6 Points - mphenhef Off the bench: 10 Points - WryNGinger, Jaysblue
  21. I honestly think 1b get the royal shaft on D metrics.
  22. Its one of those stats that just indicates he's having a down first couple of month. He has definitely missed some plays with the glove that you would expcet him to make. Last nights game awas one example, there was another one a few games ago where balls are just getting by him that you would normally think were automatic for him.
  23. Yeah, it's hard to really say. You dont really want to commit much to Jansen given his injury history, but at the same time... I have 0 faith in Kirk's ability to catch a 120+ games. something like a 4 year/36million? where 6 million would be his 2024 salary replacing arb 3, then 10m for each of the next 3?
