  1. Lineup wouldn’t matter so much if they just had half a clue what to swing at, swing decisions tonight have been bloody awful. I get that sometimes you have to give credit to the pitcher for fooling you with great pitches, but honestly that’s not what I’m seeing from Gibson. These guys are just way too eager to swing at his borderline pitches and not ready at all for his mistakes.
  2. MLB needs to put out some clarifications on what umps should be doing here. I just looked in like 5 different places and nowhere does it say the umps have the discretion to ask them to wash their hands…everywhere says if they detect a foreign substance determined to be too sticky, the pitcher faces ejection
  3. Wasn’t even a bad pitch…f*** sakes. It was up I guess, but it was well outside.
  4. It’s the only real explanation. Replay room probably has multiple views synced up make it easy
  5. I like the ump mic. Between innings you can hear him complaining to Jansen about how the 2 min 40 second commercial breaks for national games feels like an eternity. Lol
  6. He was out. Had a cleat still touching the base before he got pulled off
  7. Hanging curve middle middle, no swing. Why is nobody ready to hit mistakes?
  8. Not only 4 people but they were just stupid about baseball and just had endless inane conversations while the f***ing game was happening
  9. Adley has such a great approach, wish the Jays would take notes.
  10. This commentary beats last years Apple pbp by light years.
  11. This is true, grant was never on board with it. Moreno was the next Realmuto.
  12. I’d settle for one remembering that you don’t need to swing at everything borderline with men on base.
  13. And that ball 4 to Belt was the damn near exact location of wheat he called strike 3 on Chappy.
  14. CHappy is having major issues with the outer half of the zone since he moved further away from the plate And yes, that was ball 4. Ump screwed the pooch
  15. It’s always the same kind of pitcher that gives this offense fits. Junk all command guys. If Bassitt pitched against the Jays he’d throw no hitters all season. Gotta have patience with this guy, he’s going to nibble until you make him bring it in the zone.
  16. Yeah, savant had it as .900, same as Vlad’s until they corrected it a few minutes later. Must have had a tech glitch momentarily
  17. Can’t get a hit on something with an xba of .900 Varsho snakebit
  18. Middle middle 92mph fastball…way late Wtf is this
  19. Because of course he did
  20. If not too late gimme KK
  21. Yeah true. Even with basic expected regressions to the mean both up and down from where everyone is now, the offense should be fine.
  22. Yeah, Merrifield's hitting is exactly what they thought they might be getting, he;d be the jack of all trades to spell the other guys when they need a day off, especially against lefty starters - but everyone else has been so ass that he's probably in there more often than they'd like.
  23. Im so torn right now, I really think for the Jays to be true long term contenders they need both Bo and Vlad, and if they only keep one... i'd probably rather sign Bo But then, if vlad ever figures out a consistent solution to the launch angle problem... he's 45+ HRs annually...
  24. More like the projections with Varsho have a higher error bar - he's never hit higher than 106 wRC+... so comparing his actual vs his career seems more appropriate in his case since his ROS projections dont really add up to me. Varsho is in a bit of a dip, the rest are in the grand f***ing canyon. Kirk could probably be given some slack there too given he hasnt even hit 1000 PAs, but his major league track record is much much better than Varsho's with the bat that his current mark being where it is is far more surprising
