  1. Heh, Jansen HR and no picks. Jansen going on a massive heater for the next few weeks, book it
  2. He was safe, but because of the stupid way the rule is written can’t be overturned. Had they called him safe, it would have stood also…

  5. He did get ripped off. Saw a ball flight tracker that put that ball about 3 feet inside the fair pole.
  6. He whiffs more than Bo, so that's probably a bit of the problem. Also doesnt seem to spray the ball like Bo, mostly pulling. Avg EV is 65th percentile, bo's is 85th... though their max EV is about the same. Hard hit rate is lower but still above average. The numbers certinaly suggests there's more to his bat than current results indicate. However.... -9 Run value against 4 seam fastballs, Bo's is +9. Looks like he has a problem with the heaters.
  7. That is very likely true, but.... itdoesn't mean the best can't resurface if he can remove his head from his ass.
  8. No kidding, it's like, what does it tell Lukes about how the Jays view him when he's been up for this long, saw other players with multiple injuries and IL stints while here, and still has only started 3 games, and been used nearly always as a pinch runner in blowouts. 19 PAs in 23 games that he's been in.
  9. I could incite another riot if you want…
  10. That’s what we need, a 5’9 1B…heh. He plays 2b/LF as far as I know, must just be a one off kinda thing.
  11. Looking at Vlad SRs swing decision plot would be amazing.
  12. String beans with long lean muscles translate very well to baseball skills. It’s one sport where full bulky muscle structures, in the upper half at least, don’t necessarily give an advantage and especially for pitchers can be a detriment.
  13. Rays actually have a few guys that they could dump in the next few offseasons to maximize returns and limit the impact to their overall squad. Glasnow this offseason for sure, I cant imagine they really want to pay him 25 million next season. Maybe not this offseason but after 2024 they'll probably be looking hard at trading Diaz before he pumpkins out, probably Eflin as well.
  14. Slight update on Manoah and Ryu: He threw a 72 pitch simulated game this past Saturday, throwing 5 up and downs. He started in the lab, then went and threw the sim game. Ryu is facing live hitters in bullpens this week. No update on Green yet.
  15. Certainly possible. Its gotta be hard to coach players in any sport with such insanely good basic skills though, like, they've never really had to think about their approaches and just succeed based on raw talents alone. Now they're tasting failure and don't understand how it can possibly happen because it's never happened before. Plus, how many times have we head coaches say "just stick with it, dont get down on the process, the results will come as long as you're consistent...etc etc" I hate it when i hear that BS cliche. That, and practice makes perfect. No, practice doesnt make perfect, practicing perfectly makes perfect. If you practice wrong, you dont get anywhere. If you don't adjust to what pitchers are doing to you, you don't get better or even maintain your results. Whatever the mental block is in Vlad's brain about swinging at garbage and not being ready to punish mistakes has to be overcome. He's too good to be hitting like this.
  16. Wonder where JFas and Spencer are in that pyramid...
  17. Chances are this is 100% right. I'd fire him anways just for the shock value to the players that it might make them pull their heads out of their asses sooner. It would be completely unfair and likely unwarranted, but as any coach of any type in any sport will tell you, it's only a matter of time until they get fired.
  18. I wonder if Stroman is on the block from Chicago, if I was Baltimore i'd certainly be making that phone call.
  19. Robbed twice today on foul vs fair.
  20. Thats fair as f*** too, was just way too high. Biggio getting straight robbed tonight
  21. There's players that are lost at the best of times. I would have fired guillermo a month ago honestly, him and the hitting strategist. TO me it feels like the Jays hitters are completely unprepared for the types of pitchers they are facing. Almost like they're trying to guess at the pitches coming and trying to hit them if they guess right, rather than waiting for a pitch they want to hit. Could be wrong, but thats what it seems like
  22. Happy to say I underestimated Chapman, took him 6 ptiches to K rather than 3
  23. Chapman vs Bautista = likely sad face for Toronto fans. 3 high fastballs out of the zone and a big K
  24. Yeah, im glad he got on too but not glad that vlad has turned into Whit Merrifield lite without the speed.
