    Clement is the type of player you never go out of your way to extend to long-term 9-figure deals, especially when they're over 30. Just give up. The defense of "other GMs have done dumb stuff so that makes it possible" isn't even remotely relevant

    Yeah, for a guy with his upside youd want to see more but yeah, its early. He's a 2-week hot stretch from looking good again to the slash-line scouts.

    Exactly. They should just stick him in a room and show him his 2025 playoff highlight reel and say .. "whatever the f*** you were thinking then, get back into that headspace NOW" He went up every PA looking to do damage. Now it's like you say, just get something in play... inside-out everything just cuz he can... it's so annoying to watch a HOF talent play like a slap-hitting 2nd division regular.

    Career best K rate, career best walk rate. Career worst Barrel rate of 7.2, which is below league average. He's basically swinging a pool-noodle really really fast.

    Even comparing April OPS to May... .396 April, .730 in May. I hope June numbers continue this trend of improvement. He's also murdering LHP this season

    He was trusted with high leverage because there was nobody left. All the top guys were unavailable and everyone else pitched before him the game. I guess its good they felt he was the best option of the bottom 4 though

    The Jays can probably get another year in the minors due to that injury amd time off. They just have to ask for it and make a good case

    I doubt that very much. He may have underperformed last year, but he's way over performing this year. K rate higher, walk rate lower, ISO up by 20 points, SLG up by about 100. I'm just saying his hot start is not some new normal. He's a really good defensive SS having a good few months. We saw Gimenez so the same just last year before falling back to his "normal" Granted, Otto's offensive normal is probably higher than Gimenez's

    He's in High A ball... Trey pitched at both AA and AAA before coming up. Surely you're not advocating for calling up Perry straight from A+ ball in a season where he's fresh off of UCL surgery recovery and definitely going to be on a hard innings/pitch cap before being shut down.

    xwOBA roughly the same as last year. he's a 2 WAR SS currently riding the babip dragon. Regression is near. Same as Espinal's hot start all those years back that fueled him undeservedly to the AS game

    unluckiest team in the world right now. Runner going, ground ball that would have gone straight to the 2b bag and got them a DP... but of course it has to deflect of the pitcher's foot.
