  1. This teams best player is on the IL, not making league min.
  2. Maybe, I guess guys like Gausman would struggle more given the two-pitch profile and the hitters able to zero in more but I don’t see that lack of break as the problem with the splitters, they’re nearly all in the dirt
  3. Gausman so slow to the plate our catchers don’t have a chance. Gonna run on him all day
  4. Rockies all over Gausman. Spitting on the splitters and sliders, nailing the fastballs. Must have a good prep team on their side
  5. I think 100% of the problem is mental. You can make do with physical issues by not being stupid. Yes it would be better if he was in better shape, but imagine a guy like vlad who loses 30 pounds, gets faster and still makes idiotic decisions on the bases. It's not really his lack of speed that's the problem it's his and Rivera's lack of realizing it and continually taking stupid chances
  6. There's no denying there's hidden talent..it's not even really all that hidden. The issue is the mental roadblock in the way of that talent is pretty significant. Would anyone truly be surprised if he hit 40 bombs next season given his talent levels? On the flip side, would anyone be truly surprised if we see the same 100 wRC+ hitter with s*** d and s*** baserunning? All I know if the front office needs to figure out how to get through to him and fast, or just send him in his way.
  7. Well that went sideways in a hurry
  8. Vlads just dumb as s***, swinging at something low and away first pitch with the bases loaded. Utter idiocy
  9. Wasn’t there a runner on base? If so, catchers generally don’t set up with their throwing hand behind them as it makes it more difficult if they need to block a ball in the dirt or try to throw someone out
  10. Ernie Clement - .5 fWAR in 25 PAs Vlad Jr - .5 fWAR in 574 PAs
  11. Exit velos off Green 108.4, 98.8, 92.6, 91.8, 95.2, 102.7, 104.3 - then the hook.
  12. The top 5 hitters in Atlantas lineup have more HRs between them than 17 entire teams, including the jays
  13. 2 whiffs on 9 swings on the fastball. 5 swings and no whiffs on the slider. Savant has 1 pitch as a cutter which is unlikely, was probably just a bad slider but it was swung at and contacted. So 2 whiffs on 15 swings. Exit velos against him were all above league average as well.
  14. Averaging 95, in the past his avg was 95-96. I’m just curious as the slider vs curveball situation
  15. Sold. f***ing love those chips
  16. Why is Chad green throwing sliders? He ditched that in 2019 in favour of a curve
  17. Springer should have had that one…looks like he was really worried about the wall.
  18. Welcome back to MLB Mr Green.
  19. You don’t see the OF defense take a play off very much but that should have been a double.
  20. Spicy dill pickle?
  21. And you stole my name. I require 7 dollars and two bags of Ketchup chips as compensation
  22. Lol, Espinal is so ready to hit he just watched two middle cut fastballs He’s getting non-tendered for sure
  23. At this rate we might see a position player pitch the 9th
  24. Sir, I used the Roberto Clement joke/reference earlier in the thread. Please cite your sources properly
  25. 5 is definitely better…but 7 is pretty comfortable.
