  1. I’d actually rather see Tampa beat Boston tbh.
  2. Tampa isn’t too much of a concern, for the Jays to catch them something monumentally weird would have to happen. Seattle, Texas and Houston are the only 3 teams worth worrying about.
  3. Well, it’s not like haven’t seen this movie before. Jays jump out to lead by scoring 3 or more runs in one inning, never score again after chasing the starter, get dominated by s***** pen, and pitching gives up the lead.
  4. Perfect pick off throw, that was nice. Also f*** off Noda lol The Jays pitchers have an incredible talent for every mistake pitch being murdered
  5. That was a helluva play by the ball kid at the Jays pen
  6. Meh, solo HR, no big deal. He’s cruising right now and it would be great to get him through 8 IP to give the pen a break.
  7. I get the idea, but just like moving him up to AAA from AA, it would be nice to see that K rate com down a bit. 164 PAs at AAA too so there’s likely still some boxes to check off
  8. Can’t believe you got tickets, they’re in huuuuuuuge demand
  9. Well we know the logic there, he’s the easiest guy to pinch hit for in the middle/late innings if they bring in a lefty, so they figure he gets 2-3 good PAs against a righty then his job is done. Belt would obviously be there if he was healthy. Better than Varsho or KK hitting there I think. I’m not making any judgements on Horwitz until he gets more PAs but to see him in cleanup must be a good thing right?
  10. I thought of the Vlad / Alonso thing and really couldn't rationalize it in my head all the way through. 1 less year of control for Alonso since he's a free agent after 24 rather than 25. I doubt the Mets want to really trade him anyways but weirder s*** has happened I guess. San Diego would be interested I think but I highly doubt they'd want to remove someone like ftj to get him. Croenenworth would also almost have to be in the deal and I want no part of that guy
  11. Nothing I've read indicates he can't be at least average defensively there. Arm is fine. And rated a 60. He was still even playing SS more than half the time when he was in the field and not DH at New Hampshire. Interestingly at Buffalo they have him ating a mix of 2b, SS and 3b. At Buffalo he has the most innings at 2b. That's probably just to ensure he got in there every day when Clement, Barger and Schneider were all there at the same time. The thing is, no matter who plays 3b next season...it will be a step down from what we've seen from Chappy over the past two seasons because Chappy is just that much better defensively than nearly everyone and to many whomever plays at 3b will be seen as bad, at least initially, as a result.
  12. I don't get it either honestly. At this point it's hard to point at Biggio and think he's going to be better on any given day regardless of a RHP being on the hill.
  13. He could be in line to be Olerud-ish. I'm just saying he shouldn't be expected to be the next David Ortiz I also never said to discount EVERYTHING, because of the park, just the HRs.
  14. I'm just trying to think of the teams that might think that way. San Diego?
  15. I think the worst part of the whole situation on those two plays, all Vlad needs to do is look at what Schneider did in the PA following his. He also smashed a low line drive to left field and what did he do? Stand and stare at it because he was pretty sure it would be a hit? Nope. Busted his ass out of the box and got to 2b fairly comfortably. Even the slightest hesitation on on his part and he might have been out. The example he needs to follow was literally the very next PA after his. Which brings the next obvious point as to why Vlad needs to be following a rookies example. Vlad should be the example. He wants the adoration, he wants the glory, he wants the goofy times in the dugout and there's nothing inherently wrong with wanting those things either, but he damn sure has to get it through his head that he needs to play the game with alot more hustle if he wants those other things to come his way without coming off like an uncaring brat.
  16. Sorry, what I was meaning about "buy low candidate" was more along the lines of a team like the Jays, for an example, who are in the middle of a contention window, dont need to pinch pennies, and getting near replacement level from 1b would be absolutely checking in with whichever hypothetical team had Vlad on their roster to see if he was available. They'd probably want to wait until he signed his arb deal first and then go from there. But there's very few teams like that out there right now. Can't really think of one honestly. Maybe some lower budget teams would check in and want the salary paid down and would increase the return capital but for any team but that's still pretty unlikely as those teams usually need to keep their prospects to keep their payrolls in check
  17. Name a team that would give anything of value for Vlad though? He's probably looking at a 20 million dollar arb contract. That puts 80% of the teams in baseball out of the running instantly. The Yankees obviously aren't a possibility. He won't be non-tendered. I'm not saying he couldn't/shouldn't be traded, just that it's extremely unlikely
  18. I guess a lot of people mistake being a flashy showman without the results for arrogance. Donaldson is arrogant. Vlads personality is light years from his.
  19. You're not wrong. He'd be the prime "buy low" candidate for any team that could afford his next two arb years. That's why I don't buy the narrative some media members are spinning about it being 50/50 that he's back next season, like the Jays would somehow trade him in the middle of their window. Doesn't make sense.
  20. Can’t watch this anymore. See y’all tomorrow
  21. Trade Vlad for Alonso.
  22. Sarcasm has been detected.
  23. Richards can go 2 innings if needed also
  24. Majority of the fans don’t care about the antics. The evidence? All those jerseys with Guerrero Jr on the back you see everywhere. Not saying it’s right, just saying. Casual fans love the guy.
