  1. You stated that you could name more than 10 closers that are easily ahead of Romano and proceeded to name more than 10 closers. If you meant something different then please clarify. Kimbrel hasn't been any better this season and he projects similar or worse ROS. Give me Romano in a tight game.
  2. Romano is a better pitcher than Kimbrel in my opinion. It's a push at best, he's not easily ahead.
  3. Stripling will be a free agent and Ryu will probably miss the entire season so we will certainly have an open rotation spot.
  4. His first sentence is a lie. It's been called 3 times this month and plenty of times before that.
  5. Can't blame Soto. He had 5 hits, 3 walks, and 0 K's.
  6. You love to see it. Thanks Cardinals.
  7. I found 4 since June with a quick google search, including another one today. There have probably been more than that. We've seen that call go against the Jays multiple times, but catchers have generally been pretty good about making sure it isn't an issue
  8. The Royals, who rank 27th in runs scored, put up 29 runs in the series against s***** Boston pitching. Holding onto a valuable contingent of impending free agents to add to a team with some of the worst pitching in the league and a mediocre at best farm system was one of the most head scratching deadline decisions we have ever seen. I'm pleased to watch it blow up in their face so quickly.
  9. Rocco Baldelli absolutely lost his mind after the game. He's going to get a sizable fine for sure. His reaction is a little puzzling. He says that the call is never made, even though it is fairly regularly, including another today. Even so, it's a fairly straightforward example of why the Posey rule was implemented. Merrifield would have bowled him over before the rule was implemented, as he had no other choice.
  10. Caleb Joseph makes a good point after the game. Gary Sanchez was standing directly in the lane before the ball was even in the air and never moved from his illegal position. The league has been consistent in making that call, even today.
  11. My mistake, SN had the wrong number of outs for a couple of minutes.
  12. The call is now irrelevant with the double.
  13. Minnesota fans not understanding the call is hilarious. What is the argument from Baldelli? He must know it's the correct call.
  14. This has to be blocking the plate. I don't understand the purpose of the rule if this isn't overturned.
  15. I expect that it would be more than just casual fans.
  16. Why the 7th inning?
  17. There was very little talent, a lot of luck, and a depleted bullpen on that team. I was looking more at talent and sustainability. You know a guy like Berrios wasn't going to stay down.
  18. If old Berrios is back for the rest of the season, our need for a starter pretty much evaporates.
  19. It's been justified for most of the season, but we could consider moving him up in place of Bo.
  20. July 31 Vladdy - 1 Point - LTBF Kirk - 2 Points - Hernández - 2 Points - Bichette - 2 Points - Chapman - 2 Points - Dylan Jano - 3 Points - Gurriel - 4 Points - Biggio - 6 Points - Grant77 Tapia - 8 Points - JaysAllMighty, P2F Off the bench: 10 Points -Omar
  21. Biggio at leadoff today. I love seeing that, he's so good there.
  22. My realistic wishlist is: Pederson, Smyly, and Trivino. Smyly gives us SP depth and a lefty out of the pen in the playoffs. Pederson gives us a potent lefty bat that can replace Zimmer. Trivino is a project, but adds velocity and strikeouts to the back of the bullpen. Those 3 cover our weaknesses at a reasonable price. If there's a big ticket reliever out there for a reasonable price then I'm all for it as well.
  23. Spanky told me that they had a better pitching staff than ours during this month. I wonder if he still feels the same way.
  24. Who are those guys for you? Andrew Chafin seems like a nice fit from the left side. I'm not sure who you get that is comparable to Romano. Scott Barlow? I like Lou Trivino as an option, but I doubt many would agree.
