  1. Call me crazy, but I just think it shouldn't be blocking the plate if a catcher doesn't block the plate. I get the controversy over the Sanchez call, but he did at least drop his lower leg in front of the plate. Kirk didn't even move from a standing position.
  2. Bloop and a blast here.
  3. He's standing up. The plate is clearly visible to the runner at all times. There is nothing resembling an attempt to block the plate during any part of that sequence. I get that you want to portray yourself as the level headed contrarian, but this isn't the time to do it. You come across like a complete and total idiot.
  4. I don't believe that I have seen a worse call in my entire life. He's standing up, there's a clear and obvious lane the entire time. The Sanchez throw is not remotely comparable. If this happens in the playoffs it could be the worst call in the history of baseball. I don't think that's an exaggeration. I'm not that upset due to the score of the game, but this is absolutely insane.
  5. Why are they challenging this? There's obviously a lane. This would be the worst call of them all if they overturn it.
  6. I recall several occasions where the Jays stumbled against teams like Texas with a playoff spot on the line. A team with nothing to lose can sometimes be dangerous late in the season.
  7. Cavan Biggio had just one hit in 2022 going into the game on May 27th. Since then he's hit .249/.358/.445, which is a 132 wRC+. He's legitimately one of our best players right now. I want to see him in the lineup every day against righties, even if it means some corner OF duty. He's really solidified his place as our starting 2B going forward, which most probably didn't see coming this spring.
  8. Easily the Mariners.
  9. Zimmer is better at his role than Lukes. There's really no debating that fact.
  10. Holy crap nice catch!!
  11. On May 27th, Cavan Biggio had just 1 hit for the entire season. Since then, he's sporting a .789 OPS. He should be our guy against any RHP going forward.
  12. Biggio getting his power stroke back.
  13. Nice ceremony from the Pirates. I'm glad they showed it.
  14. Rougned Odor bat flipped a fly ball out last night. Very in character for him.
  15. Calling up Lawrence tells me that they are concerned about fatigue in the bullpen and wanted a long man. All of the others are basically 1 inning guys.
  16. Last I saw, we were the best team in the league against lefties. We're watching perhaps the worst performance in the history of the franchise so it doesn't seem to matter what hand they are throwing.
  17. I don't know that I've ever seen the Blue Jays put up a worse performance in a series. It would be hard to be worse offensively.
  18. You could put in Lourdes and play him at first base.
  19. I don't really have a problem with the strike zone, but this umpire is a really conceited piece of s***.
  20. That was an awfully quick review for a call where I couldn't 3ven tell from the replay.
  21. Neither is Kimbrel, not that fWAR is particularly useful for relievers.
  22. There's going to be some good hittin' in that bullpen.
  23. Guilty as charged, but also undoubtedly correct in this instance.
  24. It's unfortunate that Romano isn't as good as Craig Kimbrel.
  25. I can't disagree with that. Honourable mention to Danny.
