  1. It's from the same article. Someone isn't telling the truth, but I'm not a detective.
  2. This is straight from Gord Ash: "Shawn made it clear that his intention was not to sign a long-term contract in Toronto and his preference was to play in a U.S. market" I don't know if that's true, but it's the most direct source I could find.
  3. The scoreboard was a bit off. It was clearly a 2 ball count.
  4. Is Bleier that guy who had the same issue as Gausman and balked like 4 times in an inning?
  5. Believe it or not, he didn't have the goatee in his early years with the Blue Jays. It looks weird seeing old pictures.
  6. I thought Reed Johnson at first, but I think it's Inglett.
  7. Who is the other person in the picture? If I'm correct, he was around for a while and really is as short as it seems in the picture.
  8. He didn't want to play in Canada and refused to negotiate with the team.
  9. I wasn't disputing that he didn't play here long. I was just mentioning a notable achievement in a Jays uniform. Todd Stottlemyre and Greg Myers had fairly notable Jays careers. Myers coming in at age 37 and putting up a .307/.374/.502 line as our primary catcher in 2003 is one of the more surprising seasons I can remember along with Matt Stairs' huge season at a pretty ripe age.
  10. Mike Bordick completed a streak of over 100 games without an error at shortstop with the Blue Jays, while wearing #16.
  11. Surely with Rob Butler. Imagine the storyline of a Canadian rookie walking off the World Series. That would have been something.
  12. Olerud is the obvious answer, so probably not him.
  13. Clemens and Bonds are two of the greatest 10 players in the sport's history. Schilling is a borderline Hall of Famer that was left out, at least in part, due to performance.
  14. One of these things is not like the others.
  15. That may be true for free agency, but starts are still a large part of the arbitration calculation. The same number of innings out of the bullpen would pay quite a bit less, if my understanding is corretlct.
  16. I don't think that's true, coming from someone who has been on the forum for 20 years.
  17. He's been going at it for at least 17 years. I remember him spamming the old forum when Josh Beckett got traded to Boston, but it may be longer.
  18. 1985 had some pretty bad games.
  19. Looks like a 1 year deal. Good opportunity for him to get a lot of at-bats on a bad team in a hitter's park and build value.
  20. Say what you want about Rance, but he could predict the next pitch with uncanny accuracy when in the booth.
  21. I remember being upset when we didn't resign Frank Castillo after he was so good in his only season. They wanted to make a spot for this kid who put up an ERA over 10. I can't remember if it worked out or not...
  22. Another Hall of Famer that's not a pitcher wore that number for the Blue Jays. Any guesses without looking?
  23. If that means no more idiotic apple TV games then I'm all gor it.
  24. I'm confident enough to take an even money bet that it will be lower, but I wouldn't say it will be 'easily lower'.
  25. I'm not really sure that he does. As I mentioned in the above post, all of Belt's at-bats will come at the expense of players who were really good last year. It's not like you just take Bradley Jr's plate appearances and assign them to Belt. I never said how much I expected the offense to drop off, as that wasn't asked in the poll. I do agree, however, that the overall team is better.
