    He's arguably cost them 2 games with defensive blunders already. One with a terrible throw that hit off a runner and another with an adventure on a routine flyball, each leading ro multiple runs.

    In terms of wins, probably. In terms of talent, I'm not too sure. The new schedule has a lot to do with it and the division has been like this before.

    2016 Pillar was better than Kiermaier has been in either of the last 2 seasons and he's 33 now. We have, in fact, seen CF defense this good since Devo, if only for a short time.

    I'm with you on that. It drives me nuts when he strikes a guy out and then walks the #9 hitter on 4 pitches right after. I think the stuff plays though. This is a good situation from a roster perspective. Surely they expected an injury to open a spot for Pearson by this point. Maybe it's time for a phantom IL stint for someone.

    I'd like to see more of Trevor Richards. Everybody wants more strikeouts and he is getting them at an elite rate. If the BABIP drops a bit, he could be really useful. Cimber is useful in certain situations and his ability to pitch every day is valuable in a John Schneider bullpen. Bass is the pitcher I'm most concerned about. He seems to have lost a bit of stuff and he's not very useful right now.

    I'd hate to think that Manoah is that fragile. I don't accept that rationale at all. It was an unacceptably poor decision and can't be justified. It probably cost us a win too. Watch it bite us at the end of the season.

    Yimi Garcia needs to go on the IL for anxiety or something. Use the new mental health loopholes to our advantage.

    Pulling Manoah at 85 pitches in the middle of a shutout and putting in perhaps our worst reliever to face the bottom of the order may be his stupidest move yet. I miss John Gibbons so much.

    We're 16th in pen WAR, just like last year, so that shouldn't be surprising.

    They will need him to step up. His team is 9-11 and hitting .228, having played almost the entirety of their schedule at home.

    He only had an OPS of 1.800 in the minors. I wonder if his bat will be OK.
