  1. Sounds to me like they were pissed off that he didn't sign and decided to reveal that he used an agent. Kind of the same thing we did to James Paxton but on purpose. This will either make guys afraid not to sign with the Phils or cause players to resent them and not sign, I'm not sure yet.
  2. BP has him 53rd and fangraphs has him 47th, we're not the only ones. They have had guys with worse numbers and stuff in the top 20.
  3. Could be missing something, but A.J. Cole is the most glaring omission I see. Young in the high minors, 95+ mph fastball, lots of K's, very few walks. Breaking ball needs work, but he K's advanced hitters with ease.
  4. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/2014-baseball-america-top-100-prospects-free/ 32. Sanchez 55. Stroman
  5. Get yourself traded for Nick Franklin.
  6. The addition of a young 2B at a reasonable cost would bring them to a C+/B- rating in my opinion. I can live with Hutchison as the 5th starter, but Goins at 2nd is flat out unacceptable.
  7. As much of a joke as the Mariners are, they were known to lean heavily on defensive metrics prior to 2013.
  8. Does anytone else think the longer this charade continues in Seattle, the more likely it is that we get Ackley or Franklin? There's no way a defensive conscious team plays Ackley in the outfield or Franklin at shortstop.
  9. I don't want Santana, but losing out on Jimenez was heartbreaking.
  10. The Jays and whoever is playing Boston are in a virtual tie. I've always liked Milwaukee for their strong Canadian presence and Oakland for the way they build their teams.
  11. No Ramon Ortiz or Chien-Ming Wang
  12. I think healthy and typical elite level performances from Dickey, Bautista, and Reyes will let everything fall into place and allow us to compete. We can deal with things like Goins and a shaky 5th starter when the key players are in the lineup and doing their job.
  13. Not a star, but Casey Blake had a nice career. You could say David Wells too.
  14. Worked for Brett Cecil. Seems everyone I'm wrong about has these big and unexplained velocity drops. Maybe I should just subtract 5 mph from every scouting report.
  15. Deinitely Zach Stewart. He had the strikeouts, great control, groundball stuff, the total package. Keith Law clocking him at 95+ in a minor league playoff game just put me over the top. Then he comes up here throwing 88, I don't know what happaned. I would have loved to see him at peak form.
  16. Lol, I didn't believe 175 either. I'm the same height and slim and weigh 220 lol. He'd look sick at that weight.
  17. I can't imagine we came away very impressed to not even offer him 2 mil/yr. I'll be surprised if he even makes 25 starts for them.

The Clippers were just beating the sixers 83-33 near the start of the third, I can't recall ever seeing a 50 point lead. Could have been more than that at one point, I didn't look closely.
  19. Hech every day and twice on sundays, that's not even a question.
  20. You've always made legit points about Hech, I just happen to like his skillset. This is the make or break year for him.

Parker leaves with an injury for the Spurs and they still win. That's the 4th starter to go down recently along with the league's top 6th man. Who would have guessed Duncan is the only healthy starter? That guy is simply unbelievable.
  22. EVery player understands that. For me as a player, I'd find stuff like pitch fx more useful as a tool to understand how to approach at-bats. Sometimes you just don't realize all of those curveballs are out of the zone. Just thinking you need to walk more and K less doesn't do anything.
