  1. Really? Nicotine acts both as a stimulant and a depressant by the way.
  2. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that recreational marijuana is bad for your health. It's not even clear if medicinal marijuana is a net positive in a lot of cases. Many 'respected' scientists concluded that tobacco was good for you for a long time as well. In the end though, it doesn't matter. This is Canada and people are free to do what they wish if it doesn't hurt others, period. That's why I support legalization. The one worry I have is a reliable test for drivers. In my limited experience, my motor skills are far more impaired after a few puffs than after 4-5 drinks.
  3. I use those for rags in my garage
  4. Nice. I got a new TV as well, but what I enjoyed the most is watching my 2 year old nephew tear into his gift and put on the Jays shirt, hat, and socks I got him.
  5. That's the word. They're not calling for any real snow until February, so It's gotta be hard to get like 100 staff for 2-2.5 months.
  6. There's been so much rain here that the ski hill shut down for the year, sucks for them. They're the top ski resort in the province, so it means big bucks. I'm to cheap to buy the pass though, I just head off for the bush and go X country or snowshoe .
  7. You Torontonians don't know what you're missing. It doesn't get any better than a real Canadian winter for outdoorsmen and sports enthusiasts. Enjoying our weather should be a prerequisite for citizenship, lol. Winter is ingrained in so much of the Canadian identity.
  8. I objected to your use of hyperbole, not the fact that I thought he had ace potential. It's a shame he lost his velocity and stuff shortly after that near perfect game. I enjoyed reading through the threads though. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
  9. Limits my ability to ski too, haha. It's always pretty warm in Southern Ontario though, you wouldn't want to live in the Soo during a cold winter!
  10. It's just not Christmas without a nice white blanket of snow. I've never experienced this in my life and it sucks. The Great White North is what Canada is all about, so I don't get why people live here if they don't like snow. Move to Florida and have a Merry Christmas, lol.
  11. Thanks Spanky. Best wishes to you and your family. Now let's get some damn snow so it feels like Christmas. It gets colder than this in August sometimes.
  12. They didn't exist, but I liked him as a prospect. Too bad he lost that 95 mph sinker to injury or whatever.
  13. That's 50%...
  14. I understand Alford, SRF, and Greene. I expected them to be in the top 100 conversation. I agree very much with Vlad Jr. being in the top 100, but didn't expect them to have him there. Urena is a bit of a surprise, but if you believe the defense is well above average then it makes more sense.
  15. I truly don't mean to bother you, but life is about making assumptions. They could both be intersex or something too, but I'd never finish my post if I went through every possibility. People make assumptions about you every day based on your nationality, your height, the colour of your skin, and more. Once acceptance becomes more common, I don't you'll be as sensitive to it. I get asked if I play basketball like 3 times a day and I don't, but being really tall is just the way I am, so it's fine.
  16. Maybe. That's a neat tradition. I really just wanted to congratulate him, but apparently that's not politically correct.
  17. Did she propose to you? Congratulations nonetheless.
  18. Probably not. It's like the Marlins trade.
  19. I wanted nothing to do with Madson at 3/21 whether we needed arms or not.
  20. Not without giving it some serious thought. I can see an argument either way and I'd bet at least one of them is better in 2016.
  21. It's perplexing that a team would be willing to commit 20 mil to a pitcher who hasn't been worth that amount a single time in his entire 6 year career and had his worst full season K and BB rates in 2015.
  22. What sort of benefits have the Cubs really gotten from their increased bonus pools? All of their key pieces were acquired via high picks, trading of veterans, and free agency.
  23. I don't buy the idea that the third overall pick is so much more valuable than 15th overall pick that it is worth tanking for. You lose fans, lose payroll, hurt development of your roster players, develop a losing culture, and much more. It's just not good and that's why many teams that lose never seem to get out of that rut. The most successful teams are successful every year. It doesn't go in cycles like other sports.
  24. That isn't necessary at all. The Cubs had a s*****, expensive team, with no prospects. We have a substantial base of young talent to build off of and a top 3 team in the majors.
  25. Drainage is hardly necessary with proper irrigation. I don't really care about grass vs. turf, just pointing that out. Sunlight is the largest hurdle in my opinion.
