  1. Time for me to call it a night, have a good one folks.
  2. Good thing Travis is there to turn the lineup over against Betances. Definitely couldn't use him in this situation.
  3. http://m.quickmeme.com/img/d5/d559db8a0e0627ee68742044879833c26ce497eaa41217ef57ccb295dda4d49a.jpg
  4. I can't even think of a pitcher I'd like our chances against more than shitballer Adam Warren and we just roll over.
  5. So is this game....or a picture of Justin Smoak.
  6. Smoak is a piece of s***. If they released him now and eat all of the money I'll applaud the team.
  7. Looks to me like like the rain is going to miss the Bronx, at least the main part.
  8. Using their logic, I come up with something like this: Bautista (OBP) Donaldson (best hitter) Saunders/Tulo (4th best hitter) Encarnacion (best power hitter) Tulo/Saunders Martin Upton (best base runner?) Travis (good contact hitter) Pillar This changes based on how you project them. Maybe Travis is better than Martin, it just seems to fit better.
  9. I won't pretend to understand, but feel free to play around. I will note that if you switched Pillar and Martin, for example, it would be like .01 runs per game maybe. The top of the lineup leads to bigger changes. http://www.baseballmusings.com/cgi-bin/LineupAnalysis.py
  10. Lots of lineup discussion lately so here is our ideal lineup using fangraphs ROS projections and Upton instead of Smoak. 5.401 Donaldson Encarnacion Tulowitzki Bautista Saunders Pillar Travis Upton Martin
  11. I really doubt that.
  12. It's easy to get more attached if you have a junior or college team in your town and follow them. I saw Matt Duchene play 10+ times live before he made it too the show so it's cool to follow him. It's exciting to follow guys who played for your team too. We've had Wayne Gretzky, Ron Francis, Adam Foote (longtime Avs player), Joe Thornton, etc. but it's also cool to follow guys like Matt Murray and his unlikely journey to the Stanley cup. That's just a small city of 80,000 and I left out at least 4 hall of famers. You can imagine the list of players that some of the larger cities in Canada can boast. I do agree though that hockey is usually boring on television. I'll take live hockey any day.
  13. I can see Urena pushing him by mid 2018, but that's probably a best case scenario.
  14. Damn right. Same for Alford, he's not even top 100 material.
  15. Dickey settled down, what a shocker. It's as if most pitchers struggle in the first inning.
  16. Empirical evidence shows this probably isn't the case.
  17. I just want to win and he's as good as any other 5th starter. Whatever perceptions or frustrations you may have don't concern me.
  18. I think my point has been proven, thanks guys.
  19. A couple of nice swings by the Yankees doesn't mean Dickey can't still give us a quality start. I'm embarrassed to be part of such a reactionary fanbase.
  20. Hard to say from the camera angle, but it seems like Jose could have gotten back to third.
  21. Get the ball on the ground Jose...
