  1. I'd really love to face guys like Manship and Clevinger tonight.
  2. If we start hitting better with the roof closed then maybe they will open it for next year's playoffs.
  3. Are you implying that Miller and Allen got calls because they were showing good command on the edge of the strike zone? I would disagree with that because it certainly wasn't the case.
  4. The one Bautista K'd on is called 1.8% of the time. The Bryant one may be even worse.
  5. http://www.espn.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/125250/indians-called-strikes-advantage-significant-through-2-games Interesting article if you care to read it. Nine pitches is an awfully high number and has undoubtedly influenced the outcomes in a big way. Those are a couple extra walks, a few less outs, and a few more hitter's counts with guys on. Idiots like king will always try to turn this into a 'conspiracy' because he likes this to be a soap opera instead of baseball forum, but I think we can admit that the team got screwed for one reason or another (probably bad umpiring) and just leave it at that. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging the facts and the players don't need to be criticized for it. I like awareness and honesty from players.
  6. You realize that Encarnacion is one of the best hitters in the game, right? He gets on base a lot, doesn't strike out very much, and hits well under pressure. I get that players fail in big situations and it's annoying, but he led the league in RBI and has one of the biggest hits in franchise history.
  7. I haven't read the comments, but he's had a few missed calls go against him in the 2 games. One in the first game was particularly awful, more than 6 inches.
  8. Pompey
  9. You should have no problem giving me 3:1 on a bet then.
  10. What odds will you give me on a bet? That's such an asinine statement.
  11. What were our chances against the Rangers last year when we headed back on the road?
  12. You have to swing at everything when they are consistently getting calls way off of the plate, especially in the later innings.
  13. If you didn't see the scores, you would probably think we outplayed them a bit. There's no reason to think that home field advantage won't be the boost we need.
  14. I break things when we lose in the playoffs. It feels good.
  15. The most frustrating thing about what we've done with Millar is that he would have walked 5 times in 2 games if we did the statue. His control isn't sharp, but we haven't been guessing right on anything. Credit to Perez more than anything for great sequencing.
  16. http://m.quickmeme.com/img/c8/c82fd0928e26d7603e1a73cc6cc1bb1bb819b0a5b230f43f869b4c6307c98714.jpg
  17. I think it's more of an unfortunate incident that two of the bad calls probably cost us a run and certainly gave them a run. It didn't seem like there was any obvious favouritism. What's frustrating is that everyone, including MLB (stats are out there), knows that Diaz is a poor home plate umpire. Why does this still happen? They have better umpires available.
  18. Seriously. Everyone knows that all good decisions are Shatkins and all bad decisions are Gibbons. How else would we get a scapegoat?
  19. Kelly Gruber won the ZARP title in 1990. That's hilarious.
  20. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m7kV0Qf2ZMM/UYU8Pu4Ft3I/AAAAAAAAB88/yPrk29Hv87s/s1600/superstitious.jpg
  21. The very first pitch I believe was a slider several inches off of the plate inside, absurd call. Falling behind to a pitcher like Kluber makes it so tough. I don't begrudge Jose for it.
  22. Nobody believes that when half of your posts are prejudiced.
  23. Well Donaldson is playing on a busted hip and Bautista was the victim of a horrific call that changed the complexion of the at-bat (and the game in himdsight). Tough to blame either of them too much, Kluber made great pitches when he needed to.
  24. Our dumb hick manager didn't give away two free outs today and managed to not use a 'pen arm when I thought they should have. You hate him because of the way he looks and talks. You mention it in every post. At least admit it.
  25. Is a thread really necessary? It didn't make a difference. Tulo has been average at best lately as well.
