  1. Shapiro confirmed this last week and I posted it multiple times.
  2. I think they are smarter than the people who are looking at anecdotal evidence, that's for sure.
  3. So much for discussing baseball.
  4. For the left field void, I would explore trades for Alex Dickerson and David Peralta. Looking at the rosters, both may be available and could fit in nicely here without costing us a ton. I'd also explore a minor league deal with Ben Revere. I like what he brought to our lineup when he was here.
  5. He's almost always right. It's hard to blame him when he can read the strike zone better than our s***** umps.
  6. If Justin Smoak is on the bench or not on the team by April, I'll call this a successful offseason.
  7. I can ignore one person's rant. Some retarded child posting multiple stupid threads in an effort to get attention is another story. He's as bad as the Dogg or Todd.
  8. Ban this dumbass thread spammer please.
  9. Holy f*** can we ban king already? The thread spamming is worse than the Dogg on the old forum.
  10. This thread is embarrassing.
  11. Save statistic is super important.
  12. If that is indeed market rate then he'll have to accept it from someone.
  13. I doesn't seem like something that we should praise him for, but other managers continue to give away free outs via the bunt in bad situations, so credit to Gibby for knowing the numbers and sticking to his guns. My biggest criticism is the lack of hit and runs in DP situations with contact guys up, but it's not a rideable offense or anything.
  14. A guy like Heyward putting up Ben Revere and Juan Pierre power numbers is inexplicable to me.
  15. It runs deep, almost as much as my love for the Jays.
  16. Go Dodgers! f*** Epstein, that Boston tainted lowlife.
  17. There have been a few that far out, yes. I'm not pretending to be an expert on hitting, but here's my take on it. When a hitter sees those pitches called, even on an inconsistent basis, they have to expand their zone to accomodate that pitch. We've seen a couple of instances where they take a clearly outside pitch and get rung up. The implications of those calls go far beyond the single pitch in my opinion, especially with a pitcher like Miller who can keep putting it there.
  18. I can't see it with this new front office, especially after his season was already shortened to begin with. If we're serious about keeping him at shortstop, I think he would benefit more from another year of instructs rather than a full season.
  19. I'm simply stating facts. There's no debate anymore with the new technology. The hitters have to protect on that outside ball because they are calling it a strike. It's an extremely difficult pitch to hit. They need to find a way though.
  20. In the past, we've had success by taking the slider off of the plate and forcing him to come into the zone with his hittable fastball. The problem now is that he's getting strikes on anything within 6 inches of the plate. They have to protect on that slider off the plate or they'll get rung up looking, but it's also unhittable. There's nothing wrong with the approach if the umpires don't help him in my opinion.
  21. As impressive as he was, we need to see more. I think he'll miss most top 100 lists in the offseason, but could shoot up considerably by midseason 2017 if he continues mashing.
  22. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but Shapiro said that Gibby would be back next season in his interview with Brunt. He was surprisingly forthright with that information.
  23. Stroman needs those low strikes. Hope the ump is consistent at least because that is usually called.
