  1. Mark Eichhorn had 166 in 1986, which was rather incredible for the times. I'm not sure what the record is. Edit: Dick Radatz with 181 in 1964.
  2. If you want popularity then you have to aim higher. Real life celebrity Roy Firestone, for example.
  3. Not contacting the victim is a pretty standard restriction in any assault case The 100m thing is a combination of requests from the victim and whether police believe another assault could occur. He again stressed that this could be different with non-citizens, so it's really just speculation at this point.
  4. Sounds like fun, I'll be a listener. I'll try being a guest if the situation arises. I do my friend's hockey podcast now and then, it is fun.
  5. A lawyer friend says that weapon and alcohol bans are standard in assault cases that don't involve Canadian citizens. It certainly doesn't mean that he was sober and had no weapons, but we really can't glean anything from that information.
  6. Probably something like 65/80 and 60/70
  7. Let him continue his success and play in the Eastern League ASG. If he's still raking at that point, give him a shot in Buffalo. If he continues to play well there, he would be in line for a shot at the bigs in 2019.
  8. I don't take anything that Joey Votto says at face value. If he didn't care about Canada then he wouldn't have represented the team on many occasions.
  9. I take him seriously in that he has a shot to be a MLB regular if everything goes well.
  10. Well considering we rolled with Ryan Goins and Jarrod Saltalamacchia type players at those positions, I would have taken Hechavarria and d'Arnaud in a second. They were certainly missed to the tune of a few wins, but they weren't going to change the franchise or anything.
  11. Well there's Hechavarria, d'Arnaud, and Musgrove who have been fairly valuable. I also wouldn't be surprised if Norris and Barreto turn into something. Then there's Eric Thames if you want to count him.
  12. Maybe in the Florida State League.
  13. Hopefully this time off helps Stroman deal with the issues between his ears and get back on track.
  14. It would be nice to have Roberto Osuna right now.
  15. Being anxious does not explain or excuse his alleged assault.
  16. You're absolutely correct, especially on point #4.
  17. A lot of these people who claim to have empathy are trying and convicting Osuna before they even know what happened. Let's wait and see what comes of this.
  18. I'm going to reserve judgement until we hear what actually happened. We don't know if he never laid a hand on his girlfriend or if he beat the living s*** out of her. Police would arrest him no matter what.
  19. I'm really impressed that Bichette has increased his walks to 13% this season while maintaining his usual .300+ average and solid power. Keep in mind, he just recently turned 20 and is playing at AA. I'm still seeing skills that could end up being more than just an occasional all-star.
  20. Beat tandem since Guillermo Quiroz and Kevin Cash.
  21. No hitters
  22. John Tavares would have been a more appropriate example.
  23. You hate to see that kind of injury. Very unfortunate.
