  1. BS. Someone in their org is leaking. There’s no other explanation to how often they are linked to players
  2. Is it really an isolated incident that the Bluejays got swept up in a runaway rumor though? I feel like it’s not. They need to work a little more under the radar. I don’t understand why they need to publicly link themselves to every FA imaginable.
  3. Reported for racism- disrespecting Mexico by associating Taco Bell with its cuisine
  4. So you want to poop
  5. Yeah, if he didn’t know the plan prior, he knew in real time trading texts with his agent.
  6. Hard the blame the guy. He’s going to be 40, not 25. Any post-season could be his last.
  7. Actually, sorry, to be fair they lost Urias but he wasn’t part of their playoff team.
  8. Yeah, that’s why it’s good to look at any facts you have. Like they won 100+ games, didn’t lose anyone notable, and decided they’d commit $1b+ in payroll over the off-season. They ain’t happy with the early bounce
  9. This doesn’t sound like the playoffs are a total crap shoot. You need to be consistent.
  10. While that outfit isn’t for me, flamboyant looks are common for those type of ethnic groups. It’s the shoes that are inexcusable, as you said. Looks like a chicks shoes
  11. I guess the Dodgers didn’t feel like chalking up their playoff exit to bad luck.
  12. Like I said, you’d be paying a CF premium and putting a guy in the corner. What’s hard to understand about that?
  13. I thought Belly played a good CF. If you’re putting him in RF because Varsho is better, you’re diminishing the full value you’re paying
  14. Varsho is Corner OF long-term in that case.
  15. Being able to choose where they play is probably a big part of these guys coming over. It’s not Cuba
  16. The NFL is the head honcho, NBA behind them. Both have confusing as s*** salary caps
  17. I don’t believe you can skirt the paycheck thing to make deductions. And if you could call yourself an independent contractor and do sketchy accounting, I think that would be the norm
  18. The interest is going towards paying him. $45m now to pay him the larger amount later.
  19. No way he sidesteps. The US will support you changing your 5yo’s gender, but I’d like to see them try to get out of paying Uncle Sam on the Fed portion. State tax, forget it. Can get rid of that in Texas and FL.
  20. I mean, it wouldn’t be dramatically different if LAD had to put $68m away each year. They would be the beneficiaries of the interest accrued at the back end. It’s just laying out less up front
  21. From Ohtani, seems to be a pure Tom Brady move, while still getting mega money at the end. Dodgers have to lay out $45m each year still, into a non-lucrative return. LAD has the track record of winning where they could be trusted in what Ohtani wanted to do. We probably weren’t as close as people thought. We just got used to inflate the numbers
  22. Per ESPN where I read it: The collective bargaining agreement does not place a limit on the amount of money that can be deferred, but teams have to set aside the present-day value of the deferred money -- in Ohtani's case, around $44 million in cash each year -- in an escrow account.
  23. Ah yes, so present day value amount in escrow, which with interest with guarantee his money in 2034 and beyond. That makes sense
