    You guys can believe me or not, but I truly believe kiddy diddlers should get one year to appeal, then lights out. Wander definitely a little worse than I thought situation wise, he’s f***ed. But I still wouldn’t label him a kiddy diddler. If the girl was 16 and living in half the US, all the grooming stuff would be legal. I think a 14you can be more emotionally ready for the real world, over a sheltered 17yo and this girls seems very street wise. So I just don’t think it’s something he should never play baseball again for. Couple years in jail seems appropriate. I think it should be a Michael Vick situation where he has to carry the stigma with him for life but still gets second chance

    I sent Jim an offer for a 6th. He can save some faces and turn this around on me for rostering the guy.

    He’s definitely looking like brown toast. Good thing Jim was greedy and wouldn’t take intriguing offers when he could. I wonder if Jim had to pick against one thing happening: Wander never plays another game of baseball, or a certain man becomes President, which Jim would rather not see happen.

    This is where I think it would make good classroom discussion, comparing the different sports in this regard. Wander is playing baseball, which is more predominantly white than the other sports. And of course as us white men that raise good kids, we can’t image our 14yo being in that scenario, so it drives the rage. In black and Hispanic culture, a 14yo girl out partying drinking a bottle of vodka behind the wheel of a car doesn’t seem out of place. There’s going to be more understanding of being in those situations.

    My friend, do you think the Bluejays were in an Ohtani and others up to a certain point? The Jays are not accepting last year as bad luck, as you guys seem to be suggesting. They just won’t spend to spend essentially.

    It should lead to him never playing baseball again. He’d be out a season at MOST in the other sports leagues. Likely part of one. Watkins way worse

    Yeah everyone needs to get off their high horse. This seems to be like a Franco 19yo hooking up with underage girls who are out at wild parties. Any male here with at least normal T levels when they were in school could’ve fallen into same thing. Maybe they don’t carry it on past the initial thing, or once they find out how old she is. But this man is not a pedophile. Pedophiles in my opinion should get nothing less than the Old Yeller treatment. This is not that though

    Signs would point to SDP clearly intending to compete, rather than tear down. Not quite in the vision of the old owner, but seems they’re focused on SP pitching and RP with their signing and trades. I’m sure they’re mindful of losing all the momentum they’ve built the last 5 years

    I think it’s been clear that the punishment in the NBa or NFL eventually would be much less for someone like Wander, but I think it helps him right now more being a MLB, as it seemingly makes it less of a national story for a 22yo generational guy on the cusp of greatness

    Plenty of people were ready to hand Chapman $200m after April. Machado >>> Chapman. I would probably take paying Machado 10/300m over Chapman 6/150m. But I wouldn’t went either. 10/200 or something, I think you take Machado for sure.
