    You have to assume in hindsight Jose in self-reflection would be mad at himself. Instead of 5/150 or whatever it was, maybe he got a 5/100 offer that he laughed at he’s now kicking himself in the ass for not taking. Basically he just got the one QO year out of the deal

    Gripes about expanded playoffs all depend on what you’re griping about. In the NBA as mentioned, you normally have a clear gap between the 1 and 8 seed and the 5% chance or whatever that the 8 seed has isn’t worth playing the games. The two playoff teams with the worst records are Jays and Astros. Both have more than a punchers chance to win their respective series. So in that sense, there’s nothing out of place in terms of quality of play/games. So I think gripes in baseball would be more limited to traditionalism, being adverse to “everyone gets a trophy” culture, and principle

    In fairness Jays are only a few games off the normal WC so it’s not like you’re dropping down a whole level like NBA East 8 seed

    It's not my fault you're such a tight-ass and have to be so literal and exact lol. The Roark, Anderson, and proposed Ray contracts all represent a strategy/approach and I was pointing out another approach.

    Or you could take the $30m you’re giving the pile of poo that is Roark, Anderson, and Ray and put that towards one key player. Fill out the depth with guys like Shoemaker and Walker (when they were FA), or trade for cheap “depth” guys I actually forget if Walker was FA. Thought he was on 1/2 deal

    Yeah if you can’t get more than 1 high quality or just at least “legit” quality SP (if you even get that), might as well make it up with more offense. Springer would be sweet. Gri would still get plenty of ABs “The best defense is more offense” philosophy

    If he had mlb money he prob could’ve bought his way out. He’ll have another chance though. Looks like max he’s facing is 5 years and he prob won’t get the max. Seeing as he killed Dominicans and not Americans, I doubt there will be an outcry on his second chance
