    No, I’m not implying that. It can work in both ways, I was merely taking exception to you saying since the intangibles work both ways, the logical conclusion is to “cancel them out” and pretend they don’t exist.

    Yeah, it can go both ways. But you can’t just say they cxl each other out. I’m not saying I’m one to go by that stuff but you can’t totally discount it, even though it’s impossible to quantify and it’s undoubtedly less of an impact as standard probabilities

    I know I’m in the minority but I think all red flags should automatically be dropped prior to draft. Either make them part of your 25, or don’t. After that I don’t think it matters

    I didn’t respond when I first saw it but I was thinking red/black but then you have to account for one team being better, so there’d be more of one color on the wheel, that gap is always unique of course. But it pushes it from 50/50. So it’s hard to pinpoint an exact number in terms of probabilities but looking at it as red/black or coin flip is best start. But to play devils advocate, someone will say human emotion is involved. The idea that being down 1-0 in a 3 game series will cause people to perhaps perform differently. While you can’t really quantity that, it can’t be completely dismissed either

    The only negative impact is it pushes his schedule a day back for the next series but if he wants the extra day, gotta go with that. Not like he’s the Cap Ripken of SP

    Idk. White Sox have an equal 1-2 SP punch and have much better bats. I guess the downside to Tam is fear of repressed offense Kind of a toss up IMO. I know Hurl will want the White Sox

    Yeah I think they waived the counting stats portion of it for sure. He seemed to be on the path- 12 years- 7 around Top 5 for MVP and a ROY. I guess the most glaring difference in value is the D...where he was a minus defender per sabr but 6-time Gold Glove winner. I cant remember well enough if that was the Derek Jeter effect or not, prob. That would've helped his case though.

    Yeah definitely it baseball. I think basketball is dumb with 8 teams and the NFL would be really dumb with 8 teams and the 1 seed playing the 8 seed at home as -18 favorites.

    As someone mentioned, with him and Jb it was kind of a changing of the times. Agents were chasing contracts that weren’t going to be there for the twilight guys
