  1. There’s plenty of times when a guy like Ray looks good for 3 innings and then blows up. Nobody is saying he should be allowed to. Either pull them after 1 guy gets on. Or let him pitch with no more than 1 on base depending it’s it’s cheap hit or something with 2 outs. I have no problem with Tampa style 3-3-1-1-1 but you need to have the personnel for it. Guys like AJ Cole are lifetime 5 FIP gas cans. You aren’t going to convince me that putting in AJ Cole is the best strategic decision over someone that’s dealing
  2. Someone pointed out Covid rules I guess
  3. Yeah he froze him. That’s kind of point of swinging on hitters counts, so you don’t find yourself in that situation.
  4. Basically NFL except 3/3 instead of 4/2 for team getting in. I could dig it. You’d think if anything they’d prob go to 4 divisions rather than 2 though... of course that’d leave div with 3 teams so not sure you do that
  5. Can’t believe I’m firmly in Laila’s camp on an issue. It was a rising fastball, jeesum. Ever play or watch some games? People aren’t swinging because they know it’s going to be a ball, it looks like something they can hit. If it’s gets a little less rise and it crushes it, he’s the new Bautista. Or should he be extra careful and look for the walk with those monster .600 OPS bats coming up?
  6. I’m done ranting. Time for Trump v Biden
  7. Exactly. It’s just an arrogance that anything other than analytics equates to “I have a gut feeling this guy is going to hit a HR today” based on nothing... you see at all levels of baseball how pitchers can have a different feel from one day to the next.. I’m sure people have watched much more baseball than me but I can think of many playoff games I watched where a SP is out there with the understanding they’re getting pulled first sniff of trouble..again, you’re turning the ball over to a guy that was one of worst SP in baseball. Yeah he did great after the hiccups to start but point is it’s not Snell turning the ball over to studs But Jays actually got lucky that Ray was dealing too. But take him out for “fresh arm” and analytics and bring in mediocre pitcher that blows the game
  8. Again, not saying it’s all or nothing. I wouldn’t have cried if they pulled Shoe is he starts the inning with a bad walk
  9. If you’re in the NBA and you a s***** player that’s having a really great shooting night, so you sub him out for another s***** player. Obviously not a perfect analogy but as general point
  10. Doesn’t matter. If Ray was the one that started and was dealing, people would get pissed that Matt f***ing Shoemaker was the one that came in. These guys all suck and so when someone is pitching well, give them at least a little rope if they’re dealing. At least first sing of trouble. As someone else, there should be middle ground between sabr and old school. A pitcher “having it” or “not having it” one day is a real thing even if you can’t put it in a stat
  11. Meh bottom of the lineup coming up, great pitching, haven’t had many hits on the day... I don’t think it was a bad try
  12. You’re acting like there’s no middle ground. Like first base runner they allow, yank him
  13. Teo goes out here. Let him rip. Come on
  14. Need someone on for Teo to tie it up
  15. Can TBS stop talking about how good friends the managers are. Idgaf
  16. Yeah it’s a horrible decision. I know Ray finished well but he was literally one of worst SP if baseball this year. Bringing him in was a crap shoot so taking someone out that’s dominating isn’t smart. If you’re bringing in good pitchers, maybe it’s justified
  17. I think everyone would’ve been ok if you pulled Shoe first sign of trouble
  18. That’s the point. None of these guys are shut down guys you can count on so when you have someone cruising, you should stick with them. Every time you hand someone a ball, you risk them coming in and s***ing it up
  19. Pretty obvious what he meant douche
  20. This is why Teo is #6. Let’s go!
