Well, Spanky clearly doesn’t mind I guess
  2. Did the Vancouver NBA team have Raptor like support, or no? I don’t recall how it all went down

I don’t know hockey but I don’t think it’s true of the NFL except maybe a QB? ...but you draft those and they never make it to FA, unless you count Cousins lol.. which I don’t Star RBs, WRs, DBs, etc switch teams all the time and I don’t think it moves the needle really. Not one guy

I think Cards are a good bet tonight. If I gambled I’d have a couple bills on them

Idk. I guess LeBron is the extreme example but look at his history. Cleveland doesn’t have to run their whole team around Lebrons wants anymore but look where it got them. Lakers were turning into Western version of Knicks and now they’re talking potential dynasty 2 years in You can drown Mike Trout on a bad team but in basketball, one mega star can make a huge difference, not only on the court but in getting other guys to come. LAC’s season was also hardly a failure. It was a big success in a lot of ways That was just playing devils advocate but I generally agree with you
  6. It’s the off-season. You could’ve told Spanky to put an ice cube in his shorts. I know I talked trade with you up until the deadline. A lot of other guys you get dead air

Let’s go Pack!!.. oh, wait.. little late to the party lol
  8. I’d wager quite a bit if the first man up was AJ Cole, the Rays would’ve let Morton continue. I’ll get on board with what the Rays did but Jays did was awful. Trying to keep up with the cool kids thinking they’re sabr smart instead of using some common sense * obviously I’m still not able to let that go lol
  9. There’s a lot of BP arms setting themselves up for a NYY contract
  10. Bro, it’s the playoffs. Everything is more of a story than it’d be in the regular season. If a guy hits 3 hrs in a game during regular season it’s kinda ho-hum. Playoffs it’s a story. Kershaw has a bad game in April nobody cares. Someone does a bat flip in May, not a story like it would be in WS.
  11. My take made for the better headline. That’s how it works today
  12. “Smith was a great RP for years and now he sucks (16IP that don’t look bad outside of HRs later).... that’s a tough boss lol On the flip side, Britton has worked out wonderfully... he’s exactly as advertised anyway The snark aside though, someone like Britton is for a team with a stomach for more payroll. I’m never rooting for the Jays to sign a guy like that
  13. They wouldn’t be vastly inferior if they had their Ace (Verlander) pitching multiple games:)
  14. Even in the bubble the NBA was taking 3 days between Finals games. Ridiculous Honestly I can’t even understand the logic to that. I guess if they were looking at or were given certain nights of the week idk. Not sure specifics of their deal
  15. I’m going to ignore this reply and continue enjoying my shot
  16. Well maybe when you’re Cyborg or North and get a front office job, I’ll listen. Until then you’re just the bjmb Mr. Smarty pants. Mic drop:)
  17. What I’m saying is this (and try not to just be Mr. Smarty pants and just use some logic): if you’re a baseball exec and the no off days becomes a thing, does this not effect how you construct your team? Putting a higher value on back end guys and make you at a least a smidge more hesitant to add that extra 0 to the Ace contract”
  18. If not the union, mlb. So if union wasn’t opposed, that’s what it’d be
  19. Well, it’s really a double edged sword. Yeah I think casuals are leery of drawn out playoffs but that’s coming from making more rounds and when you’re making more rounds you’re doing it for more casual fan engagement, not only for playoffs but stretch run.
  20. I misinterpreted what you said I first. By “more of their members being in the playoffs” I thought you meant teams and not players (ie backend starters) But as I said, that’s wrong. Basically you’re saying the union would be more concerned about backend SP getting the chance to participate in big games over a policy more casual friendly that will help drive ratings/engagement and mean more money for everyone in the end
  21. I can promise you the NBA is very concerned about ratings and their product as we’re taking billions and billions of dollars in the next tv contract at stake, which both owners and players rely on. Mlb wouldn’t move backwards and put a diluted product out there for the playoffs. But I do agree it’s all about logistics so it doesn’t need to come to that.
  22. That’s a different animal. You switched gears and made it about how many teams are in the playoffs Edit: I guess I see what you meant but it’s wrong:)
  23. Maybe that’s the primary reason but what I said is still true
  24. I doubt mlbpa will hop on board. You’d be devaluing your ace pitchers and putting more emphasis on depth. Policy is usually driven by the high earners
