  1. I would’ve even call the finger a “freak” or “fluke” injury. HBP don’t happen every game but it’s not entirely uncommon. Sort of like awkward slides, diving plays etc… I’ve seen Vlad get hit in the hand and you hold you breath for a minute but it’s ok in the end. Maybe a day off to rest the hand. Guys like Stanton, Buxton, and Jansen… they don’t seem to escape those situations
  2. He still has to bust out boys. Still a smidge below league average for his career with the bat. Been worth less than 6 WAR over his first full 4 years, with 2 years of control left. Still a little soon to put his junk in your mouth. Most non-Jay fans would tell you that I’m sure. That doesn’t say you can’t get excited about 250 PAs but geez

Man, the Lakers taking such a quick 180 is one of the more surprising negative turns in the major sports in recent memory. That has to be an interesting dynamic right now, LeBron continuing to push for moves and future looks so bleak. I think I’d definitely trade him, though I’ll never happen. Houston has really intriguing pieces now with a quick retool
  4. That’s the question here Jimbo
  5. Except if you have 2 other FT C and then you start penciling said person as a more regular 3b/2b/OF
  6. Moreno probably wouldn’t project as a plus bat at 3b or OF for instance, while also not proving plus defense one would assume. Sure there’s value in having a Ben Zobrist that can play C but that doesn’t scream franchise player I’m saying I’d rather trade it for potential big piece in an area of need considering Jays are set at C already
  7. Once he goes off C, his value plummets bro lol
  8. It would go in their pocket but the money still would count on payroll. Doubt it makes them more likely to spend.
  9. He’s exaggerating the point to state his case. It’s a roster crunch at some point. You’d like to say, we’ll let’s sit on it until we get an 1A offer… but if you’re carrying 3 C with value, while having other clear areas of need, is that the best roster management…
  10. Yeah of course, some teams are obviously going to have different opinions of the players as well.. but just vacuum value.
  11. Could. Might. Sure if Moreno can start hitting 20 hrs a year in a few years it would sting. I wouldn’t call it probable and those are the the decisions a GM needs to make. Some teams may see it, others not. I’ll bullish enough on Kirk where it negates the impact even if Moreno did fully blossom. So if they can get top value from some deal for Moreno, I think it’d be great
  12. Hopefully Moreno. He rose up to the top charts of the charts based on power surge that seems to be an outlier. He won’t drop back because he’s so toolsy for a C and there’s the chance he finds his power again. Let another team pay for that gamble. He doesn’t steal, doesn’t walk.. no doubt he’s a valuable piece as athletic C with elite bat to ball skills but nothing there where it’s going to be deep regret dealing him. Jays are just fine at C. Could use putting the surplus somewhere else. As mentioned, Moreno prob gets the most value
  13. I stand corrected. D movie; had to share review, back on topic… There are good movies. There are bad movies. Then there are movies that are so bad they’re good. And then there are movies that are so bad they’re just terrible. But then there is a fifth category of movie, and this is perhaps the most unique: movies that are so terrible; so profoundly, horrifyingly god-awful; so utterly devoid of anything resembling a redeeming value that they are more art than even the most carefully crafted art film. These are the movies that elevate s*****, lowbrow filmmaking to a level that transcends even the very best high art. Gypsy Angels sits at the very pinnacle of this category.
  14. Little known fact. She had a B movie out there where she played a stripper. Remember than fondly from early teenage years
  15. Yeah, it’s a meet in the middle thing if that’s the way they want to go. I haven’t seen it in practice but seems it doesn’t slow down the game. Quick signal and then they show it on video board, which seems cool. I think the challenge rule should be based on unsuccessful attempts. Idk. But you also don’t want to halt things in the 2nd inning with nobody on base. I would agree robo umps is probably preferred but with some tweaks, this would definitely be an improvement
  16. Meh. Maybe I’m wrong. I guess there’s going to be challenges that are “burned up” later on and such. Idk. Not sure what success rate is for mlb challenges
  17. Maybe in a vacuum of what calls should be. But based on the assumption that the limited numbers of challenges made it so the challenges were only against what were thought of as “terrible calls”, 33% seems low idk

My fantasy team is going to push in everyone’s pooper this year. #1 seed for sure
  19. https://www.mlb.com/news/automatic-balls-strikes-robot-umps-challenge-system-a-hit-in-afl I’m sure the way AFL is doing the challenge program has been discussed but just seeing it for the first time. What I thought was really funny is that only 33% of challenges were correct lol
  20. Nostradamus reincarnate
  21. Jays season has primarily ended 3 seasons in a row due to BP. Any of the other bigger mlb teams would probably address it aggressively after #2.
  22. There’s moves you make without a couple regular season wins in mind. Thought Captain Obvious would be all over that
  23. I wonder what kind of suspension Yunel Escobar would get 10 years later. It’s possible he never plays mlb again lol
  24. It can be said that Latino men have a lot of machismo and so this board being so full of estrogen and hot flashes, it’s really hard to understand their mindset
