  1. Do the Pirates benefit in some way from the signing? Like do they get more welfare money or something? Otherwise I don’t get it. There wasn’t a floor in the CBA, was there?
  2. NFL too
  3. I meant it’s possible no shoe drops!? I didn’t say it was probable. I also wasn’t saying Jays weren’t trying. By news sources, we know they kick the tires on like every f***ing player that may even be the slightest bit available. But I’m sure they won’t force something. And they’re very fond of 26th man upside moves
  4. It’s not MLB The Show. For everyone trade, there’s probably 200 man hours exploring one. And any FA that has potential or is good, is going to have a number of suitors. Even I’m not suggesting Jays are sitting on their hands
  5. He’s confident enough to increase the spread 50% in your favor, from what you think is a very fair line
  6. There should be a popular meme of a guy dancing around on a giant map. I’ve never seen one but I’d post it here
  7. I can understand the logic there. It’s reasonable to expect
  8. You’re just blowing around the winds here, mate
  9. Which is understandable. Some guys may not want to come. Some guys you may not be comfortable paying what they want. You don’t want to force something But if it doesn’t happen, does it really matter if there good effort and intent?
  10. You’re actually not even in a different camp amigo. You’re looking at the deal on a contingent basis. Im not saying it’s probable, but it’s entirely possible there is no other shoe. Just some payroll flexibility for in-season looking at things around the trade deadline. 26th man signings as well
  11. I’m going to start using the NPC thing. If someone continually beats FIP each year, can you question that without saying FIP is worthless? Some guys can’t seem to make the separation when everything doesn’t fit in the box
  12. So I’ll just go with your homer logic. Seattle had this possible lock down closer and intriguing prospect just burning a hole in their pocket, so they decided to trade all that future value for a declining Corner OF worth 2 wins. They liked his smile
  13. I’m not sure upside is the proper terminology when someone has averaged about that over the last 3 years. I think you’d say they’re betting he won’t regress, or wasn’t a fluke. It’s not chasing upside Jays are the chase upside type and there’s nothing wrong with that. This deal wasn’t that for SEA
  14. Bro. You know how many times the board has celebrated a trade or signing and it was s***? I applauded Kooch signing for the upside. You should never just think your opinion is gospel in these matters..
  15. Do you think Seattle makes the move if they grade him as a 2 Win player? Or maybe you should send them a link to your data, maybe they can take it back if the physical hasn’t taken place
  16. Many things you can take away what you want. Over the last 3 seasons, Teo 8.2 Wins in 324 games. So I’m not going to do further math but that’s maybe a tiny hair under 4 Wins/150? And again, last season he had a really bad stretch coming back from the injury, when he had started out the year good
  17. They don’t like Biggio other than bench. No worries there. Merrifield bounce back who knows. We’ll see. I don’t think it’s a sure thing they make a move but probably
  18. That’s for zealots and chicks. Different segment. You can get them in for some games with cheap gimmicks…they aren’t watching tv though
  19. You start plucking away the big marketable guys and try to replace that with guys like KK, people will tune out that much faster if it goes south
  20. Causal fans that blow in the wind are critical to an organization like Toronto
  21. I wasn’t claiming that opinion was unique. I’m happy to go in with all the other board villains here in that regard
  22. There’s really no way to know how the cookie is going to crumble in a few years with the big contracts looming. And how others guys will shake out. I don’t think you subtract from the 2023 team to upgrade RP. Unless you replace it. That’s the hope, they replace it. I’d imagine it’ll be a wait and see acquisition, how they pan out
  23. Are there any hot ones. Whenever I see news clips from it, it’s not beautiful people
  24. Well, there were two games and one was a shut out. Of course you could’ve said RP was a more glaring need in the off-season than a bat. I wouldn’t actually debate that. Its just how you about acquiring that. Would’ve made more sense to seal something else imo. We’re all just expressing opinions
  25. Obtuse thinking. You can find an attractive person that has good qualities. That’s what people do. There’s no need to disregard looks to find a good person. Plenty have both to offer
