  1. Broken record I know.. but it’s probably a playoff team without it, but team really isn’t optimized for a deep run yet. Some moves need to be made.
  2. They need a bat. You’ve said it yourself, so shut your mouth gimpy. No doubt they’re trying but if prices are crazy, doesn’t make sense…and trades aren’t easy.. that’s what I was telling you
  3. A single is worse than a walk. A double is worse than a single. A triple is worse than a double.. thanks tips
  4. In pee wee baseball they teach you that the worst thing is a free pass. Stays true all the way through. Of course they can hit if you throw a strike lol. It’s ok we walked the leadoff hitter this inning because he might have hit it lol
  5. Yeah 2020 was the time. Some of these teams do it the first year, get a couple FA years at least
  6. You answer your own question in there. You don’t want the guy taking a walk but if he’s not going to lay off the Balls, why throw him strikes. Ie Vlad
  7. Get them early. Now is late
  8. One knock on the Jays is they can’t seem to lock guys up. Won’t be good Bo and Vlad getting to FA.
  9. It’ll be interesting if he gets boo’d in NY. Probably will be a mix of both
  10. You’re suggesting Springer is a beta and KK is an alpha?
  11. For a team like the Jays, sure I don’t want them giving out any contracts like that because then it’ll effect who else they can pursue.
  12. Listen, I’m sure no team likes spending money on RP. It’s certainly not optimal and so I understand why you hate these facts so… but it is what it is and it’s why guys like Montero get paid what they do… by teams that have the luxury of blowing cash on it
  13. I’ll circle back and use your guys argument. You watched the Jays playoffs games the last two years, right?
  14. You aren’t smarter than league GMs. Sorry, you see these closers and RPs get contracts and it’s not for WAR. I’m sorry you don’t like it and only enjoy the TB model.
  15. Again, no. When Clemens only wanted to pitch one month to ramp up for the post-season, everyone was trying to outbid everyone for him
  16. For the regular season, sure. But can’t you understand how a minimal increase in runs saved means more over a full season than a playoff series. Or that an RP is going to see their value change because 1) if they’re available every game that makes a quantifiable WAR difference, and 2) their skills are going to be much more impactful on a single game than some minuscule defense value that needs 162 games to take shape
  17. News flash: teams aren’t paying Verlander $40+m for nothing. They’re trying to give themselves more balls for the roulette wheel
  18. You’re going somewhere else with the discussion
  19. You’re being dumn. How do you draft your post-season fantasy team? You pick all the best players. Of course you don’t know what’s going to happen
  20. I mean you guys all the time preach clutch isn’t a repeatable skill. See Rosario this year. All you can do is put your best team on the field and hope for the best
  21. That’s like putting a s***** player in a position to start a season and think when he does good 1/10 that you were smart not to sign a star
  22. The playoffs are a crap shoot. Of course you can see Rosario become Barry Bonds, or watch Vlad go 1-25, or Degrom get lit up. You can however increase your odds of success. Go into it with the best team you can.
