  1. Yeah I guess I wouldn’t bet either way on how it will go. You’d think they’d try to squeeze something out the deal with him going somewhere else, but then there’s just cutting bait, which has its appeal to them as well I’d assume
  2. In a practical sense, of course. But the bridge is torched and washing away down the river
  3. I tried to pluck him in BORED but Dinger wasn’t playing ball. Bbdl helps even out a trade with Spank-off though Nice
  4. The likely scenario, yeah. It’ll be interesting
  5. Mets all the way, man. How could you not? League min, monster rotation
  6. Probably 194 was too much but it’s just the number of games he missed. I’m not sure if there was a negotiation like there was in the D. Watson case with the NFL after the arbiter ruling, but seems like what a settlement would look like. MLB signing off on it, even with a statement they wished it was more
  7. Well, if you don’t think BR is legit good, then I don’t think we disagree on anything. I wasn’t suggesting to trade a prospect for the sake of it.
  8. Well it’s you want to be all statsy, Manoah is projected for a 4 FIP so one might say yeah, we should trade high I personally like him and think he’s a FIP beater but I also lack objectivity being a fan
  9. Three years ago you probably wouldn’t trade Nate for just about anyone. If you can get an AS-level mlb player for 3 years on the cheap, it’s worth considering most guys. BR seems to have a few different outcomes though. I don’t know enough to have an opinion
  10. Seems about right. Have to give to get
  11. Sports talk Jim.
  12. As the anti-me Hurl explained, SF wouldn’t do anything to burn that bridge. Now it’s with a small-time FA like Conforto but next year it may be a big name. There was no backtracking with CC, just fell apart; no one’s fault really
  13. Yeah ZG isn’t going to leave the SW for a few million end of the road contact. Not like it matters anyway
  14. That’s what I’m saying. It’ll be nice to spell Springer during the regular season in CF to keep him healthy, but come playoff time, optionally he’s in CF where you won’t miss a beat defensively. And you have corner OF that can hit too
  15. I guess. I’m just never a fan of paying top dollar for anything. Prices will cool. We’ll see
  16. Who would buy a house now though, idk. Better off waiting 1 year at this point. Can’t get worse but could get a whole lot better… buyer perspective I mean
  17. Sometimes players accept a lesser offer. It wasn’t seemingly at that stage though, just the desire for an extension if you will. They pivoted to a great plan B, even if for a little less, rather than play it out
  18. Yeah, little slip on Laila’s part. This would replace #2 on his list but everything else would be the same. The GM isn’t able to unilaterally sign a $360m contract unless it’s the owners kid or something
  19. Even if the conspiracy theory is true and front office didn’t want him and used the medicals to slip out, that would mean ownership signed them but got talked out of it when the medicals came back. Not buyers remorse. Ok a $360m contract and all that goes into that and change your mind 2 days later
  20. It could drag out a couple weeks and the Mets could do something different. There’s nothing by either account saying they were not going through with the deal, only that it hit a snag
  21. What I get is SF wanted to do a little extra due diligence with second opinions and Boris like like “fu, going to my back pocket”
  22. Who wants well-written articles, give me Tok Tok conspiracy all day… if my name is Jim at least
  23. Maybe they didn’t want to pay the $6m
  24. History like the Mets backing out of Kumar last year?
  25. Do you think they want to be known as an organization that works like that? Jesus, bro. Give your head a shake
