  1. I think your underestimating Fister a bit. He's more than just a good pitcher, he's a damn good number two on a playoff team. Obviously he's not as good as Sherzer, but now with Fister moving to the NL, that gap will be reduced even more. I think that combined with the fact that he is not going to cost as much to sign an extension since he doesn't have the big sexy ks or wins like Sherzer and he has another year of control just might put them neck and neck on who I personally would want.
  2. Obviously they are idiots and you must tell them so haha.
  3. I think I would too. If it was a one year deal. Maybe 1 year, $10 million. He's not really a guy who I think will just suddenly collapse like a lot of people do. I see his as a better version of Mark Buerhle. Maybe a bit less of a guarantee to be healthy, but a better pitcher.
  4. Nope, Athletics declined. Smart move too, they a got a better pitcher for less money(Kazmir).
  5. FUUUCK, I was just talking to my friend about how good of a signing this would be. And of course, Billy f***ing Bean gets him. Watch him put up numbers similar to 2007 if he stays healthy. 2 for 22 is a pretty solid deal. Decent amount of risk considering the injury history, but even if he pitches 140 inning each year, he'll be worth it.
  6. Only looks like 4-5 of us showed interest. This seems like something fun to do over the boring off season...
  7. Man, this seems like a lot of work. If someone is willing to co-gm with me, I'd be interested.
  8. You must be over the moon dude, congrats!
  9. Why do you say that?
  10. Cardinals would be reallllllly overpaying if they did any of those deals. Unless maybe we were paying like the whole salary. Even then its iffy.
  11. Because he is a young talented player?
  12. You can't put Dickey in the bad luck category. He has out performed his FIP for most of his career. Wasn't there some one who looked at the stats of knucleballers and found that they all outperformed their respective FIP's? Excuse me, I meant good luck for Dickey.
  13. IDK, call me crazy but I like to think that coaches actually have some value. Especially hitting coaches paired with young hitters.
  14. Are you being serious? I actually wouldn't mind it that much if was. Atleast he understands the benefits of going the other way...
  15. Wow thats f***ing blows. What a s***** organization. Why the f*** would you fire the guy after your team wins the world series and you had the top 3 hitters in the league? Some f***ed up s*** is going on in Beestons mind.
  16. Watch Cito come out of retirement to coach...He'll turn those wussy oppo hits from Lawrie in to homeruns for sure!
  17. Watch Cito come back out of retirement to be the batting coach... Ooops, wrong thread
  18. I bet you Cito and Beest had something to do with this. You know those 2 love the ole rip it and grip it approach. Mottola was obviously preaching other things to certain hitters and they didn't like it.
  19. They better make good use of this draft position and sign a free agent who got a qualifying offer...If he makes the team better of course.
  20. Ya I saw a photo of the dude, he's an absolute beast. Like 6'5 and 220 or something crazy like that age 17.
  21. Isn't Gareth Morgan eligible for this upcoming draft? I keep hearing about how he might be the highest Canadian ever.
  22. Damn, Tirados report sounds very promising. Didn't know that he was up to 98
  23. Here's a guy most people don't even know of, Jon Niese. He was injured this year and has only pitched 120 inn but since coming back from his injury he has pitched 60 inn with a 3 fip and 3.2 xfip. Only 60 inn but they have been very well pitched 60 inn. Could be a interesting choice as a number 3-4.
