Oh I totally agree. Working within budgets though makes it difficult, and baseball is typically not funded as well as sports like football or basketball. Makes it harder to implement especially within an entire conference. The sound is much, much sweeter though.

You're right, apparently wRC+ doesn't account for base running. His BsR does not project as s*** though. It's projected as slightly above average.

I'm assuming you're referring to Reyes' projected wRC+ ROS which encompasses all offensive output, not just the bat. Projected wRC+ of ~100 is nothing to turn your nose up at from your SS, considering that only 8 others have been above or at league average to this point. The average bat at SS would be a below league average bat.

Off the top of my head Reyes contributes positively offensively and with his base running. His defense is below average. You're confusing the terms elite and good. Yes, Reyes is an overpaid asset going forward. That has no barring on his particular skill set here and now.
