    The point is if some guy on BJMB hates the contract, most MLB teams are going to too. Prefacing every trade player X argument with "if we get good value back" is so tiresome. Obviously you trade anybody if you get good value back, that's not rocket science.

    Ya I didn't know this until I looked up his career earnings today. A free reliever, with a club friendly option. Feels like a Shatkins esque move for years to come.

    Well he's actually got a 3M option for next year which could be picked up. If he finishes the year strong thats a nice option to have.

    I really don't think Grilli is worried about his next contract at 39, with north of 20M in career earnings. f***, what a life that would be. Career bullpen guy who retires at 40 and has financial security the rest of his life.

    Bolster the pen somehow, maybe grab a starter and hope everybody stays healthy. There isn't much to trade from to reinforce the team.

    Couldn't agree more. He seems like a little bit of a diva, and I really believe the trade from Colorado shook him.

    Exactly. Early in the season you were just waiting for him to watch two meatballs pass and then swing through something with two strikes. Now it feels like he has a chance to hit something hard every time he's at the dish.

    Barney is like the perfect MIF bench option. Has good AB's, understands situations, plays good defense. Goins' days have to be numbered.
