    I hate you for the continued Vargas updates. I wanted him so badly when you dropped him, but wasn't prepared to use my number one waiver on him. I then stayed up until 2 am figuring I'd be able to grab him off of FA. Looking back now I obviously should've just used it and rid myself of the awful hindrance of the highest waiver priority.

    Hockey and basketball aren't played in the summer, so even if the Jays fade into the background for a few years it wouldn't be that hard to regain momentum if they win. It really is that simple. If they win. I'd rather see a rebuild than be the AL East version of the Detroit Tigers. I don't think ownership or this FO are interested in giving 200M to Donaldson taking him into his late 30's. They can't let him walk, so the only alternative left is to trade him. If the team is still out of contention come July I think the writing will be on the wall, and selling off the pieces they can will make the most sense for the future.

    Quality new posters will continue finding their way to the board. It happens all the time- some person who has lurked for a few months starts posting and ends up becoming a good addition. Quantity shouldn't be the goal IMO. It would be interesting to know how many people lurk here daily. I know I did on the old board for probably a year before signing up, simply because it was the best place for Blue Jay discussion and news.

    What a disaster of a season. With all the anticipation through ST, this has been an absolute buzz kill. Thankfully I've started to become a bigger fan of baseball itself than the Jays. That's not a slight at Toronto, and I will always support them, but baseball is such a beautiful game that being reliant on one team's success to dictate your view of the game is no way to go through an entire summer. I had to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening. Go Jays!

    If the team has no plans on extending Donaldson it would be extremely irresponsible to not move him. I'd have no problem taking him right to FA if it meant another two years of post seasons, but that's highly unlikely at this point.
