  1. They don't have any room at 1B/DH though. ARod, Tex, Bird.
  2. Strasburg is a FA next year? Woah. That happened quick.
  3. It all depends on the contract it would take to extend him and the prospects that they could fetch in trade, so it's pointless to debate. I would support trading him in certain scenarios too. Really hard to do right now with the state of the current team though. Huge chance to make another WS run in 2016 and his option is so cheap. I guess if you can get a controllable piece that would be able to contribute in 2016 too then you could pull the trigger.
  4. Aging curves need to be factored into everything, but no teams should categorically trade guys once they hit some age threshold. Case by case basis. The Red Sox are probably pretty happy they didn't get rid of Ortiz when he turned 33. What specifically about EE makes you want him gone, or makes you think he's going to drop off? Much like Ortiz, he seems to combine a unique level of power, patience, and contact. Same with Jose. Of course they could fall off a cliff at any point, but graceful declines are more likely IMO.
  5. Well then you're not trying hard enough. Step 1 - collect underpants Step 2 - ????? Step 3 - profit! wait, I mean... 1) replace ~3.5 WAR Tulowitzki with ~1.5 WAR Goins and friends. 2) spend newfound $20M on at least 2.0 WAR worth of pitching 4) profit! (specific numbers don't matter)
  6. Well you wouldn't trade Tulo and then leave your MIF depth chart as Goins-Travis... clearly step 2 would be to go out and add depth.
  7. White Sox have Tim Anderson. Also, Jose Iglesias might not suck. The only two things that popped into my head were: Angels with Aybar coming back Rangers - some convoluted trade involving Tulo and Andrus, where Texas eats some amount of Andrus' contract and/or includes prospects.
  8. How big is the skill gap between Ryan Goins and Didi Gregorius? I like Goins more as a starting SS than as a starting 2B. I'll say that much. Obviously in an ideal world he's a backup MIF.
  9. You'd probably replace him with Goins and then spend the money on a whack of pitching depth for 2016
  10. For what and to which team? Tiny market, value could be minimal to a lot of teams.
  11. If Revere gets moved it's probably/hopefully for a SP with a similar salary
  12. Shapiro's Indians have inked some guys to pretty great contracts. Carrasco: 4 yrs/$22M (15-18) & 19-20 team option Kluber: 5 yrs/$38.5M (15-19) & 20-21 team option Brantley: 4 yrs/$25M (14-17) & 18 team option Kipnis: 6 yrs/$52.5M (14-19) & 20 team option Gomes: 6 yrs/$23M (14-19) & 20-21 team option Some of those are crazy, lol
  13. I've already explained it clearly and someone else provided a link to help you understand how WAR is calculated.
  14. Of course they would move him. He had a partial labrum tear this year! Scary commodity, and they have no lack of pitching depth.
  15. I'm pretty f***ing excited for the Shapiro era, you guys.

Raps looked pretttttayyyyyy entertaining AND deep tonight. Just sayin'.
  17. Sure! Donaldson straight up?
  18. WAR from offense has nothing to do with position. Batting runs are relative to league average hitting talent. Defensive runs are relative to positional average defensive talent. That's how it works!
  19. Theoretically, someone switching from CF to LF doesn't actually lose any value because they should be more skilled at their new position, relative to average. Revere is now compared to plugs like Hanley Ramirez and Kyle Schwarber in UZR calculations.
  20. Projection systems are wonderful on the aggregate, but they can still be misguided on individual players. It's hard to reconcile Revere's current Steamer projection with the data we have visible on him. Just hard to understand. Be wary of someone who commonly has gripes with player projections, but also be wary of someone who never has complaints about player projections.
  21. AJ Reed is the guy who could be a big league mirage IMO
  22. Yeah Brinson looks like a potential monster. He carries immense value in a league like such as the LoD. Top five fantasy prospect?
  23. Pros: Should be able to stay at third base, strong arm and exceptionally good hands. Good idea of the strike zone. Smooth swing from the left side, but choppy from the right side and should consider not switch hitting. Could grow into plus power. Cons: Concerns about body and attitude - is in fact a large green reptile man who insist on wearing a tattered white lab coat all of the time. Irrational hatred for spiders.
