Interestingly, some of the numbers should already be stable, when it comes to average bat speed and swing length. I think these measurements are about as "sticky" as fastball velocity. I'd still give it a couple of weeks. And you never know who might be dealing with a nagging injury or something like that. But Kirk's bat speed being up 3.6 mph on average is probably already significant. He is TRYING to hit for more power and/or did something new in the offseason. Same with Gimenez.

Who remembers when the axe handle bat took the league by storm? Don't really see or hear of it anymore. The torpedo bat makes sense in theory but I am sure there are certain downsides. Pitchers with east-west movement probably have a better time against torpedo users since the end of the bat is more useless than ever. At the end of the day the mass of the bat is a zero sum game.
