    Blech, I own both of them in The League and I feel neutered. Same old DDL story for me. My offensive core will probably be mediocre (vs expectations) and my pitching dirt bags will probably be spectacular (vs expectations).

    DeMar is endlessly annoying, but the true team effort from Toronto this playoffs is so refreshing in a sport that is usually dominated by just the star players. On their way to the conference finals when Lowry has been less than a star in probably 10+ of the 14 games. They seem to be getting small contributions from everybody. Biyombo has been great this series, JV obviously was a tank before he got hurt, Powell was important last series, Ross has been important at times and not a total plug like in past years, Carroll has been very effective, Joseph has been effective. Patterson hasn't really seemed effective to me but he's still had his moments.

    Yeah Girodo started 2015 as a geezer in the FSL and the org eventually shot him all the way to AAA / the AFL last year. Speaking of old relief prospects, Danny Barnes has to at least be as good as Ryan Tepera...

    Then you're just incentivizing crying wolf for an escape fund divorce. It's such a nebulous policy blackhole. I'm not saying there's no light at the other side, and absolutely no correct policy, it's just hard to imagine there being a right answer. I do think teams shouldn't get to simply keep 100% of the salary saved. If it's largely a PR policy then make the teams donate the majority of the salary to DV foundations...

    Says Grant's independent investigation or just the news stories you've read? For all you know, the investigation has turned up some level of probable evidence that he choked her with an extension cord.

    Good job. Apparently you can cut and paste and use bold font. You seem to have a very cursory understanding of statistics and baseball statistics, at best. But at least you've found Fangraphs. Keep reading and staying hungry and maybe one day we can have an intelligent conversation about the game.

    This sentence doesn't make any sense. It's not "every other statistic" vs FIP... it's just FIP vs ERA. FIP is more predictive of future ERA than ERA itself. ERA takes a lot longer to stabilize than the inputs of FIP. He's had trouble striking guys out his entire minor league career. You would expect a guy with his scouting reports to have an elite strikeout rate. So to answer your question, it's more likely that his ERA and WHIP are anomalies right now. FYI, WHIP is also a thoroughly useless statistic that should be left in the hands of Wilner.
