  1. Any current DDL member that wants to vote / provide input on the replacement has a say. Ideally you guys can just reach a consensus, privately, but voting works too.
  2. I would be pretty upset if my org tanked and had a top 5 pick and this was the crop of players available. I guess I'd be fine with #1. Probably just take Greene, who seems to at least have the highest upside, and cross my fingers.
  3. It is a weird draft for sure. There seems to be a big deficit of up the middle position players and a lot of the college arms and bats seem very boring.
  4. Francisco Mejia is going to be elite. Leads the EL in AVG, SLG, OPS. 7th youngest player in the league. Double-plus arm from behind the plate. Just 21 K's in 38 games played. In related Eastern League news, Danny Jansen is a dude for sure.
  5. Some eyewitness reports from BP: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=32018 They give Brendan McKay a 70 OFP as both a SP and position player. I don't really get it. Seems like a weird kind of bias because he's good on both sides of the ball, so his athleticism is bumping up his overall projection.
  6. I don't really have the time to deal with it in the next couple weeks (nor do I have the time to process draft cuts, keep an eye on the draft, etc.) I'd give full license for you, Dinger, z3r0s, and KK to find and pick the best guy. I'm decided that we have to move on at this point unfortunately. He's in 20th place entirely due to neglect... his core should be battling for a playoff spot.
  7. We've already sent out the min signal a couple times this season and it hasn't worked. Last time he went AFK I think it was just for the entire offseason. I don't think he's really ever ignored his team before.
  8. I guess he's out. Time to find a replacement, I think.
  9. I'm cutting Ke'Bryan Hayes, Jaime Schultz, Ryan Cordell, Andy Ibanez, and () Mondesi Jr.
  10. Cut down deadline will be Wednesday. Draft will officially begin Thursday 9 am. People can start the draft unofficially as soon as they want though, provided they've made their cuts.
  11. This is true. After all, Subway uses soy and little boy semen to fill out their "chicken" (fact).
  12. No, with all that money he'd just buy more kids to raep. See: Subway Jared.
  13. Ump in this afternoon game is just the straight up STAR of the show.
  14. He honestly sounds like Carlos Rodon, if you downgrade the epic slider to just a plus pitch. A riskier, poor man's Rondon. Still seems pretty f***ing good for a pick in the 20's.
  15. Matt Bush, at 26 years old, stole his friend's car, drove drunk and ran over the head of a 72 year old motor-cyclist, giving him life changing injuries. He fled the scene of the accident and went to a strip club, tried to climb on stage, and was found by police while he was getting kicked out. That came after all of this: You can absolutely argue that Matt Bush's crimes carry greater moral culpability and blame worthiness than what Heimlich did as a 15 year old.
  16. Seth Romero is pretty interesting. Top 15 talent with awful makeup. Draft him in the 20s and then you can maybe sweep drafting a child molester in Heimlich under the rug at 99.
  17. I guess the one player who is semi-comparable is Josh Lueke. IIRC Lueke was charged with rape and non-consensual sodomy or something similar and ended up pleading guilty to a lesser charge (forcible confinement and sexual assault?). He did this while he was a Rangers farmhand, at 20-something years old. Two MLB teams decided to acquire him after this in his pro baseball career. Of course what Lueke did and what Heimlich did are not really that comparable. You really have to just talk to the human and explore their character in order to make the organizational decision regarding someone like Heimlich. It's irresponsible to ignore what he did but it's also very ignorant to write him off entirely because of it.
  18. That's an interesting dynamic though, especially with Toronto having that extra 1st rounder. If someone really exciting tumbles to 22 due to price demands, they could pop that player and then take The Molester at 28 or 61, shifting the large sex offender rebate to the tough sign. Hmmmm. I could get on board with that.
  19. The Jays pick: 22, 28, 61, 99 (then +30 repeated). Just based on talent, I'm not sure if he would be that exciting at 61, unless they think he can add velocity. Maybe if he tumbles to 99.
  20. He actually seems like a great prospect. Seems like a 2nd round talent, maybe 1st. Teams love lefties with command and broad stuff.
  21. Yeah, Vlad and Bo are kind of forcing the issue here. It's not like they are just succeeding - they are in a different league of talent.
  22. Carlos Beltran isn't getting into very many games for me right now, after trading for Bautista. I could move him for a useful arm, prospect, or decent draft pick. Tommy Pham also available. I think he has solid value though. Could do either with a pitcher for a slight upgrade on the pitcher. Basically, if you want an OF talk to me, a reasonable and sober person, instead of TCA, a sleazbag.
  23. Just abusing those baseballs
  24. So you put her in a choke-hold after emotionally abusing her, is what I'm reading? BJMB needs to investigate BTS
  25. Good thing I flipped CC for Machado who immediately decided to spiral around the toilet
