  1. I don't really think so... despite the ISO right now, it's still hard to assume that Biggio all of a sudden has legit easy plus power that would equate to continuous 30 dinger seasons. If he works out, I would expect something more like Kelly Johnson - a very white guy without a ton of athleticism, some whiffs, but some pop and most importantly some idea at the dish. And mediocre D.
  2. I will remove KK’s privileges immediately. Shame!
  3. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/blue-jays-prospect-kevin-smith-on-casting-aside-his-red-flag/ Kevin Smith is Smart
  4. He also has a prospect pedigree. He was ranked in the top ~160 by people before the draft and got a $300k bonus... 23 isn’t that old for starting a year in AA Who cares about a 25% k rare in 2018... Yawn
  5. Jason Heyward did it on his way through 3 levels in 2009 Jesus Montero was damn close in the same year (11.6% K) You might as well say OT (RIP) did it in 2012 - full season, 10.5% w a .252 ISO Not exactly the best company. Mental midget, bust, dead.
  6. The minor league production was never lofty enough to look past the K rate. He always smelled like Handsome Jake to me. Or maybe someone that would be good IRL but hit like .240 and be fringe for fantasy
  7. Mr. steal your girl and chop her up into tiny pieces
  8. Mostly because he looks like a weird serial killer
  9. Biggio is a part of any "Big 3" only as much as Nicolino was ever a part of the "Lansing Trio"
  10. Man, I hope Ray Black survives long enough to make the majors. 202 K's in 104 MiLB innings. Yes, he's only thrown 104 innings in like 5 seasons. Trevor Bauer probably throws more pitches in one offseason than this guy has in his entire adult life.
  11. can you make that bigger
  12. Juan Soto might be the most interesting man in the minor leagues. Have you seen his stance?
  13. Who would be better at projecting prospects: A) Random entire MLB org 30 years ago Literally just me, in 2018 with Fangraphs
  14. Link to the rumours? I haven't read them.
  15. Holy f*** - Ian Happ's K rate is insane.
  16. It seems like nobody busts anymore. The only real "busts" are pitching prospects or hitters who had visible warts to begin with or were obviously overrated.
  17. I almost put "Kevin Vicuna - not an MLB prospect so don't ask me about him"
  18. Sam Moll - missing a good amount of bats, 26 year old lefty, probably gets some innings this year Francisco Rios - why is he starting games? he's awful at it and he smelled like a fringe relief prospect years ago. Bo Bichette - the bad is, where is the power. the GOOD is scouts are now saying that he looks like a natural shortstop. Cavan Biggio - demands your continued attention. Danny Jansen - all that remains is the MLB test, truly. Logan Warmoth - the ratios are good and now some hits are falling in, 8 for his last 21 with 3 2B and 2 BB. I heard he was getting jealous of Kevin Smith. Kevin Smith - objectively and continuously better than Warmoth in every conceivable way. Kacy Clemens - I didn't even notice he got promoted. Riley Adams - catching is hard, this might take a couple years. Angel Perdomo - hit a wall at Dunedin last year, ratios are good this time, he probably gets the AA test this season and we'll finally know what he is Yennsy Diaz - his BB/9 in Lansing is exactly the same as it was last year in Lansing (4.79). He's not developing; don't buy any of the ERA-hyped news. Samad Taylor - hitting a wall? 9 for his last 53 with only 1 walk and 14 k's
  19. He'd probably be a v good RF. His arm is a weapon and his sprint speed is also apparently above average, I remember seeing some statcast thing on a triple time earlier this year. Anyway, he's at 0.4 WAR in 5 GS. +0.08 WAR per game. And 0.8 WAR in 70 PA (consider that 17 games). +0.047 WAR per game. It looks like one game started means he misses up to 3 games starting in the field. They've been giving him the day before and after off. So having him start is a net loss of like 0.061 WAR at this production. Even if he only misses two days in the field it's a net loss of 0.012 WAR. And if you assume defensive value in RF.... then you're absolutely right. You can probably get better leverage of his pitching talent as a full time RF and late inning reliever. Closer/RF is fun as f***. Get some defensive specialist to swap in the OF with him at the end of any close game. He'd be an unhittable reliever.
