  1. I'm kind of surprised he wasn't just part of the Goldy package.
  2. wtffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
  3. "tons of upside in those names"
  4. "Pitching depth" can be such a euphemism. A lot of those prospects have serious warts and/or are probably just relievers. In all likelihood, out of this crop Toronto will get 1 back-end or mid-rotation SP, a few decent RP, and the rest will be replacement level or busts. (this isn't really a criticism or anything directed at you, Ray. Just a general thought about the term)

Why the f*** would he? Or should he? - No head contact - Wilson had *just* touched the puck - Wilson put himself in the vulnerable position - It's not even a traditionally vulnerable spot on the ice, where you might expect the hitter to be cautious. It's open ice and Wilson took a weird route to make himself vulnerable and then watched his own pass like an idiot.
  6. That OF looks pretty sweet to me. Not to mention that Michael A. Taylor is maybe an excellent 4th OF.
  7. Rays name Jonathan Erlichman, 28 years old, as a (hopefully) uniformed coach. Process and analytics coach. Wow!
  8. There's not really much to fix - he should just regress in the right direction. The problem is that $17.5M is a lot for a ~2.0-2.5 win 1B in this climate. Layer the Hoskins defensive position stuff on top, which made Santana simply an awkward piece for Philly to have.
  9. Babe Ruth's 10,000+ PA career is not a big enough sample for DRC+ to stop assuming he is less talented than his production, lol. (I'm assuming their formula just isn't properly tuned for the past).
  10. The M's are throwing RPs gratuitously into deals like they are playing in a 20 team fantasy league.
  11. I'll gladly take on Mike Leake and his contract. Can't see the M's trading Haniger though -- at least not in a deal like that.
  12. I don't think they realllllllly need a SP. I guess they could benefit from a reliable #3 type workhorse, but you can't really call Stroman that. Sure, their rotation looks a lot better with another front end SP but every team's does. Nola Pivetta Arrieta Velasquez Eflin Eickhoff De Los Santos Sixto Eshelman etc.
  13. Contract but expand MLB/MiLB rosters so replacement level is the same = not the worst solution.

Wow, the Kareem Hunt video is a lot more benign than I expected.
  15. Avisail Garcia is like Teoscar Hernandez except fatter and somehow better at defense and baserunning.
  16. Bruce is a $26M future sunk cost. Swarzak is an $8M future sunk cost. Mets therefore are getting $94M in "money" from the Mariners. Cano is under contract for 5/$120M. Mets essentially are getting Cano for 5/$26M or whatever. Cano can still ball. Diaz is perhaps worth more than the two prospects.
  17. Wow! This flips the whole deal around. The Mariners are reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee[censored]ed
  18. Jeff McNeil is getting a lot of love during these rumours. I can almost feel his DDL value getting higher.
  19. If by "massive" you mean "pathetic", then perhaps
  20. In what f***ing world is this the right course for the Mets. DeGrom has two more years of arbitration and Syndergaard has three -- just keep them both for now. Trading Syndergaard after he has dealt with recent injury issues seems dumb. Extending DeGrom after his 9 win season is more dumb. So why not do both?
  21. These are the type of no-brainer trades that nearly every GM and their mother (and every dynasty baseball owner) want to pull off. It's harder than you think because it's hard to find a trade partner who wants to do the other side of it.
  22. lol.... Guaranteed
  23. Musgrove was worth 2 WAR alone in only 19 starts last year. Feliz and Moran project to be MLB contributors in 2019, and Feliz probably has legit closer upside. Martin has very intriguing MiLB numbers up until the second half of 2018. That trade is going to be worth it for Pittsburgh, on paper.
  24. Enough coaches for an entire beer league lineup! And the positions kind of work out too. Rivera - SS Montoyo - 2B Duncan - LF Martinez - 3B Schneider - C Hudgens - 1B Budzinski - CF Buschmann - RF/RP Walker - SP Pitching might be an issue, and we'll have to hide Buschmann in RF I guess but he's relatively young so his athleticism will probably shine through. Maybe Ross Atkins can throw a couple innings of horrendous middle relief to bridge to Buschmann.
  25. Conner Greene is a marvel. 2018 between AA, AAA, and the AzFL: 97.2 innings pitched 75 strikeouts 78 walks Being on this guy's team would feel like house league baseball when the kid who has never pitched before wants to give it a try
