  1. Sure and Yes. I forgot your co-commissioner powers did not automatically renew. Yahoo!
  2. It's from the point of contact to when he touches the base. You'll probably get 4.40 or higher for Vlad if you time it right. I bet you're just late hitting go. Use your phone stopwatch.

Yeah that's the main reason that most athletes have their permanent residence in Florida. Even then they have to do careful tax planning around their travel schedule, they probably don't sign long-term leases or own property where they play, etc. Of course some just say f*** it and live where they play. Florida isn't the only way to avoid taxes. There are other methods. Matthews could probably live in Toronto full time and roll the bonus into some type of locked in retirement fund or education fund or whatever.
  4. My roster squeeze trades... In: Ramon Laureano + Andres Gimenez + Cristian Pache + MiLB #21 (+ C.J. Cron) Out: Jake Arrieta + Scott Kingery + Brandon Woodruff + Brandon Lowe (+ Jedd Gyorko + Jackson Kowar + Sam Carlson) Pretty bad tbh. Been trying to trade Arrieta for over a year now. Laureano seems to have 20/20 upside and he's going to play so I'll take it. Really like Gimenez. Only one I'm overly worried about letting go is Brandon Lowe, but it's the Rays so he'll probably platoon or something.

If he is considered as US resident working in Canada then I think it would be taxed at 15% in Canada and then at whatever the US Federal rate is (and then if there is a state rate, that too). But he would get tax credits for the US taxes. So it should be higher than 15%, maybe more like 40%.
  6. Jeff Arrieta and Jazz Gyorko to BTS for Raymond Laureano and D.J Cron
  7. It's a really bizarre fetish.
  8. Gord Ash's ascent to the throne was astonishing. Bachelor of Arts from York Teller at CIBC Lands his dream job - ticket window guy for Blue Jays Promoted to a middle manager job in "Operations" Promoted to Director of "Stadium Operations" Promoted to Player Personnel administration role Promoted to AGM (15 years after York). Five years later, begins his reign as the worst GM in franchise history. HOW!? Dude was a f***ing climber.
  9. My probable cuts are: Jedd Gyorko Evan Gattis Derek Dietrich Gio Gonzalez Ryan Yarbrough Robert Gsellman Then I'll still need to cut a couple of: Johnny Cueto Scott Kingery Brandon Lowe Frankling Barreto Brandon Woodruff Jose De Leon Mike Minor Corey Dickerson I'd rather not cut any of that 2nd group so come get them. Come get three of them, why don't ya? Prices vary, obviously. I'll cut value loose before I give it to you for a song.
  10. Cut date and waiver draft start will probably be a bit later this year
  11. We tend to just get everyone to select their holdover keepers, and then each owner picks up their other keepers (offseason additions) from the pile once Yahoo spits them out.
  12. I would do a SP or two for Laureano
  13. where did KL rank the Jays' farm?
  14. Jim it's "Pre Madonna". The phrase came from the pop music star, Madonna.
  15. Probably around 30. I think I'd have to put him above Riley Adams and he would be similar to Sopko. These things are impossible to perfect. You do 10 revisions and then when you look at the final product you realize guys are out of order. It just is what it is. I also think, upon reflection, Palacios could probably rise by ten spots or so and Wall by 5-10 spots.
  16. I just really like the swing mechanics. http://freegifmaker.me/video/15493205012887017.gif
  17. Colin Poche will get caught by one of MLB's run prevention officers. It happened before and it will happen again. https://www.arkansasnews.com/sections/razorbacks/two-arkansas-pitchers-arrested-shoplifting.html
  18. Someone can try but the mods there will probably make it invisible immediately just like last time.
  19. What p2f said but also: - The bonuses paid to both weighed heavy on us. I view that as a proxy measurement for what Toronto thinks of the total tool packages. - Hiraldo doesn't smell or look like a SS to me so that was a substantial negative factor (relative to Orelvis).
  20. It is clearly a better way of illustrating upside and risk than just writing "55 FV - high risk" beside everybody.
  21. My scouting report memory was that Palacios is a fringe CF. The combination of groundballs, poor power, Ks trending up = turn off. I don't think you can justify him over Jonathan Davis, who we had 37th. I guess you could make a case that Davis - Palacios should both have been up near #30 but then they are up beside guys like Hector Perez and Samad Taylor and above Luciano and Sopko. So apples and oranges and potatoes. This farm is so deep.
