  1. My correct take on Stroman: https://www.radioscouts.com/blog/marcus-stroman-does-not-abide
  2. congratulations on googling "sarscasm" Sarscasm: the use of irony after a bird has given you a respiratory disease
  3. wtf? they are changing the rules of golf now?
  4. It's about 1388 BTC / WAR
  5. Okay, league champ gets to decide whether we shuffle. If we do division champs get to draft their competitors.
  6. Okay, let's do it. I refuse to be involved in the administration. Dinger can do all the organizing. Seems like a good time to shuffle it up though, in light of the new owners and the dispersal draft which weirdly left three dispersal teams in the same division.
  7. I am very much in agreement with this. I'd like to hear at least a few other opinions though before ruling unilaterally.
  8. We can if everyone wants to lol. Maybe BTS should put it to a very biased vote where people can vote multiple times.
  9. I am now irrationally excited for this knuckleball guy.
  10. Lowe being a 1B prospect saves them. He's more of a high upside fantasy prospect than a slam-dunk top 100 real life prospect. When I did my top 3625 prospects list, the shape of the curve was pretty informative. Prospects in the 50-200 range are basically all the same (the differences between them start to get more linear and the slope flattens out). This is opposed to the top 50 or so, where the differences between prospects speeds up and the shape of the talent curve is actually different, so even being in the top 10 vs. the top 30 might matter. The difference in talent between 50 and 250 might be the same as (or smaller than) the difference between #2 and #51. And there isn't a huge difference between the ~300th best prospect and the ~900th. So on any organizational top 30 list, prospects in the 11-30 range will typically be similar in terms of projected talent and it's probably pretty stupid to care all that much if some blog puts a guy 29th instead of 12th. But people get a bit too concerned with whether or not specific guys were included on a top 100's back end. I am going to finish a blog article about all of this and how to view the "top 100 prospects" meme. Rough rules of thumb for now would be: - Focus on top 10 placement - Focus on top ~50 inclusion - Look for "consensus" top 10 or top 50 prospects that the ranker is putting outside their top 50 or so. They are basically signalling that the player is not special. And vice versa about players ranked higher than the norm. - Don't care at all if some guy you like did not sneak onto the back of a top 100 because it doesn't matter - The top 100 meme is arbitrary, it's just a nice round number, rank 100 is not a significant demarcation of anything in particular.
  11. @JonHeyman 7m7 minutes ago John Axford is close to a deal to return to his hometown Toronto Blue Jays, which is where he’s said he wanted to be
  12. And now Brett Lawrie's recent absence from baseball makes sense. He needed to reload. Cycle up yet again. One final explosion onto the scene.
  13. Definitely defensible if you hate Jansen's defense. Ruiz' contact and age vs. level scores are pretty elite.
  14. Lawrie was top 10 on some mid-season 2011 lists. He had so much helium in 2011. And then he had a .953 OPS in the majors to finish the year. There was a point where people probably considered him a top 5 prospect in baseball, somewhere behind Harper and Trout but arguably ahead of anybody else (Moore, Bundy, Teheran, Profar, Machado, Jesus, Shelby Miller etc.)
  15. Confirmed. Certainly I can get someone at least as good as Joey Fart with the third pick, right
  16. We will maybe see a lot more players do this going forward (give up a couple of free agency years via extension). Two years ago, almost no chance Aaron Nola's agent would let him sign that.
  17. I like the general area that they placed the vast majority of the names. Eloy being 8th instead of 3rd, I don't really care about that. The names above him could very realistically be better players. Eloy's presence with Vlad and Tatis in the holy trifecta has always seemed suspect to me. I think Vlad is on an island, Franco and Tatis are on a different island, and then Eloy is on a bigger island with the other names in the top 10 or 11 or whatever.
  18. This is a strong list
  19. I am starting to get very annoyed that Harper, Machado, Kimbrel, and Keuchel are unsigned. It's all I think about.
  20. It looks like nobody has any interest in the remaining assets so yes. I mean hurl has room on his farm for the two Alexes but if he doesn't want them he doesn't want them. Alex Lange was the prospect I was talking about earlier who I think should be owned.
  21. I'm not worried about it, you can keep it. Harrison Bader limped past 500 PA anyway so you'll have to promote and keep him within your 20 dudes at the cut. Probably not a big deal since Dietrich and Yarbrough are about replacement level anyway.
  22. Addendum - late trade of Dispersal pick #164 to TCA for MiLB #83 TCA will have to wait for TRM to make one pick before he can pick.
  23. I ended up with only 4 waiver picks so if anyone has extra I will trade you the most shittiest pick upgrade we can find for the surplus pick you won't even be using.
  24. Okay, so Goldbull and TheHurl seem to have ended their drafts. I'll take that last MiLB pick (assuming TRM won't want it) and I'll invite two arms to spring training - Jordan Lyles and C.C. That's the end of my draft too. Min can pick whichever prospects he wants to own. Just to be clear you guys do not HAVE to stop at 20 players right now. But we'll need to get down to 20 in two weeks for the cut anyway.
