  1. Yeah this is what happens when the team isn't horrendous. A gaggle of goofs emerge and post.
  2. Fun to get destroyed by one of the absolute worst offenses in baseball
  3. As others said maybe there is a way he plays over Straw and is an offensive boost when needed. We will see.
  4. CLICK ME FOR FUN Honestly, eat a bag of dicks and go watch soccer if you don't realize that this guy is a total weapon
  5. If Ty France gounds into a double play in a big spot in September or October I will THROW UP my cheetos
  6. I really don't get the Ty France thing. Has Atkins explained it? If they do indeed bump Schneider for him I can't help but feel like that is a downgrade. Schneider has been having great plate appearances, he walks a lot and has pop and can play LF and 2B if needed. France makes more contact and is better 1B coverage but that's kind of it. France probably hits RHP better as he has a platoon neutral career line I think. Wouldn't you rather be pinch hitting with DS who is way more of a three true outcomes guy? He is much more likely to hit a game changing homer and may be more likely to simply get on base as well.
  7. Roden was so disappointing in his MLB sample. It wasn't really the lack of power - it's fine for a young player to not have their power swing show up in MLB in their first go - it was the swing decisions. He had some very poor showings. Many plate appearances where MLB pitchers just completely dissected him.
  8. People being a bit dumb on the control thing. Control is less important over relief pitchers but it still matters. It's still part of the equation! Jays apparently have 2025 and then five more seasons from Varland. What if he's a quality reliever that whole time? That could happen. It's part of the possibilities. Part of the equation.
  9. Bryan Baker is a gas can with a 4.70 ERA over the last two years You jumped the shark twenty pages ago and are just being obtuse for fun now.
  10. The Yankees paid trade market prices for almost all of their relievers lol
  11. The Rays do it all the time lol They literally just traded for Griffin Jax. Today.
  12. A guy like Varland should be more reliable year to year because he has a good fastball. I love Fisher and Little but they worry me much more in terms of consistency. Little throws so many balls and Fisher has a horrible fastball he has to hide. Varland is flawless.
  13. Varland has the same projections as Helsley and Bednar by OOPSY. And a 10 k/9 projected too. It's really not difficult to see. Great Stuff+ on both of his main pitches. Gets a lot of groundballs so he doesn't HAVE to always go for the strikeout like Hoffman types do. OOPSY thinks him, Bednar, and Helsley are basically a push ROS and the only better RP traded were Miller, Duran, and Jax.
  14. The thing I like about Ross is that he always tries to turn over every stone and get creative. I appreciate it. It is a bit of a PR problem because milquetoast fans and boring media guys want teams to just do the obvious predictable things. Trade for David Bednar! Go get Sandy! Who the hell is Luke Varland? F u Shartkins! --> this describes a lot of the reactions
  15. Varland and Seranthony are both top 20 qualified RP by average fastball velo Varland has been as good as Mason Miller this year by results Varland has very recent SP experience. He was bad last year but his pitch mix is completely different now He may be a stud?
  16. Will made his choice. And then Ross made his.
  17. I guess the Wagner move could just be a precursor to Varsho activation but that is so boring
  18. expect trades to trickle in for another hour
  19. Saw a tweet this morning that said he's traded something like 60 players and acquired 40 over the last several deadlines. Traded away 24 future WAR and acquired 16. I don't know the exact figures but that's the main point.
  20. Not really. Tons of names left.
  21. Jake Bird for the Yankees #10 and #28 prospects At this point we should EXPECT Mr. Atkins to land a good RP for like, Victor Arias or something.
  22. I guess Pittsburgh thinks the better C prospect is a 50 FV, top 100 type. I dunno. Dumb.
  23. Need another good RP and a bat upgrade. Do it or quit, ROSS. Will Wagner is hitting .237 with 0 HR this year. Ernie Clement is down to a 93 wRC+. Offense is needed.
  24. Yeah but his swing decisions are Judgian. Spencer Jonesian even.
