  1. pretty sad developmental story he must have gotten lost mentally while trying to make adjustments or maybe an earlier than normal physical decline perhaps from the baseball hitting him in the face that time. knocked the talent right out of him
  2. sometimes they do that with chronic / nagging stuff if doctor #1 couldn't find a clear diagnosis
  3. Yeah this isn't like giving Derek Fisher playing time. Speaking of Fish, he is hitting .158/.259/.305 in AAA this year after .205/.271/.308 the year prior. woof.
  4. Both depend on which season you look at
  5. I'm not comparing them directly but the point is that the total depth and roster construction in 2022 is just so much better than the 2015/2016 teams Toronto right now has a couple of MLB players who are annoying and underperforming (Tapia and Zimmer) but that's.... kind of it. There is good position coverage in most ways and MiLB depth is pretty good for most areas. There are even top prospects who can get called up like Groshans and Moreno. The 2015/2016 teams had, I think, more nothing players and worse positional coverage and much worse organizational depth to reach into. Goins, Thole, Colabello, BJ Upton, Junior Lake, Zeek.... I can't even remember all the s*** bags.
  6. these things tend to sort themselves out anyway
  7. Yeah I guess it's Ryu vs. Kikuchi when/if Ryu returns Stripling is the clear #4 at this point in time
  8. Errrr How about just a vintage Stanton injury and maybe some random monkeypox cases
  9. Well, not really for the home run part. He had fringe power always so maybe if the baseball is depressed he's just a doubles hitter for the most part. That's fine though.
  10. It's literally the best roster construction I have seen during my life, by Toronto. All of the JPR teams were failed structures The 2015 and 2016 and 2017 teams were all way too thin and always two injuries from disaster. Ryan Goins LMFAO. I'm assuming 92 and 93 were well built but I was a baby so don't remember
  11. If you are mad about Tapia playing too much the things to criticize are: Springer too many days off from CF? Biggio should be a full-time OF from day 1? f*** Teoscar for getting hurt? f*** Gurriel for being s*****? Or of course "Toronto should have been way more aggressive in their pursuit of a 4th OF"
  12. Tapia's process statistics and indicators are not awful. I don't think he should ever start over Kirk but he's a useful piece I think and its disingenuous to even put their playing time side by side because Alejandro Kirk is not an outfielder
  13. I can't justify the rope Zimmer has received. He is a lost cause. If he's on the roster he should literally never start a game
  14. They tried hard all offseason to add a better left handed outfielder, the obvious need Players like Brett Gardner literally turned down guaranteed millions from Toronto and preferred to not play Tapia was the best they could do. They made the trade reluctantly at the end of the offseason and at least were able to con a decent prospect out of it And Tapia has underperformed his projections Let's not be stupid about this. The front office did nothing unreasonable
  15. Yeah I think he has a relatively good chance because he's likelier than most to have 4 hit games Remember Bengie Molina
  16. Sounds like both of them
  17. Roger needed hitters for live BP at home so he made his sons hitters. Simple.
  18. Lol Jim turned that down straight up?
  19. Damn Mize TJS
  20. No, if the peer talent is generally worse then a great player will be relatively speaking even greater
  21. He should literally try to hit fly balls every time He would hit 60 homers every year
  22. Talent is diluted now because of the minor league level removal. Players are in that league that in last years would not have been pitching that high
  23. Yeah I get it They actually lost the brand to The Score right? Sold out to The Score, were there for like two years, then The Score killed Drunk Jays Fans and several other satellite blog things. Then Stoeten went to work for NP for about three weeks. Then that didn't work out. So he started www dot andrewstoeten dot com
