  1. Getting no hit builds character
  2. One no hitter ever Seven against. Soon to be eight. Feels like an annual tradition lately. Something pathetic and telling about that. Allergic to excellence.
  3. Literally nothing has changed. Nothing. Brandon Belt became Justin Turner and Matt Chapman shrunk 4 inches and lost all his power. Everything else is 2023
  4. By the way, Genesis Cabrera sucks and won't last the season in Toronto
  5. .500 road trip Get Manoah back Go on a roll (to the cellar)
  6. lol These are all horrendous at bats I don't think they've had two good at bats tonight I guess the walk and the IKF lineout
  7. Say whatever you want about Francis today but I will say... There were some real positives here. And home runs can be somewhat random. Some of those big Houston hits were not bad pitches at all.
  8. The high FB is how he pitches though Houston was just on it. Maybe his spin or command was a bit off. Or they were guessing right. Or it's not a good pitch.
  9. And the exact opposite for Toronto It's like they didn't even know Blanco was right handed until today
  10. I dunno man. It's like the Astros saw Francis the day before actually seeing him. Good game prep I guess.
  11. Let's see how they look the second time through
  12. I like Pham but signing him would be moronic if it would cut into the playing time of DS or Ernie, even a tiny bit I'm sorry but I don't think y'all appreciate what this late bloomer twosome are capable of The nice thing about the current roster is DS and Ernie can steal as much playing time as their performance dictates as the year chugs along. Three roster spots are at least partially vulnerable: - 3B, IKF could lose time - 2B, could become less or a platoon - OF, KK or Varsho could get more off days
  13. It's not even ugly. Varsho is not great at a #5 hitter, that one is obvious, but he's not a total zero with the stick. KK is also not a total zero, especially for a good CF, and the Jays have pinch hitters with power or platoon players for him. You can't put Ernest P. Clement on a list and say it's ugly, c'mon. Kirk should be solid. Biggio is off to a good start and as a platoon hitter he's fine. He does some stuff. So I think the ugliness is limited to a couple of points: - Varsho hitting too high. Lack of a proper #5 hitting LHB, basically. - IKF playing a lot. Everything other than the above two facts is just being a Debbie Downer. Sure if the players play bad the lineup is bad but what's the point of saying that
  14. You can't pick who you would have signed after we all know what their final cost was. Cheating! Not realistic!
  15. Pham probably just wanted too much $$ and was stubborn Some old teammates really like him
  16. + most of the injury callups will be fun too. Orelvis, Barger, Tiedemann, Yariel, even Horwitz. The only foreseeable annoying things will be: - Manoah inexplicably bumping Francis from the rotation in late April - Ernie Schneider not getting enough starts
  17. The game today showed off the fun side of the 2024 Jays Having Clement and Schneider in the fold from day 1 changes everything. And in a few weeks, Jansen and Votto will massively upgrade the bench. Remember last year, the opening day bench? Biggio, Espinal, Lukes. Puuuuuke.
  18. rough numbers WAR/600 KK: 2020: 5.5 2021: 3.75 2022: 3.0 2023: 3.0 Projected: 2.0 to 3.0 Pham: 2020: 0.0 2021: 1.2 2022: 0.7 2023: 2.3 Projected: 0.7 Michael Taylor: 2020: -0.5 2021: 2.4 2022: 2.0 2023: 2.5 Projected: 1.2 to 1.8 O'Neill 2020: 1.6 2021: 5.8 2022: 1.8 2023: 1.7 Projected: 1.8 to 3.0 Interesting thing about most of the "they should have done this instead of signed KK" posts is that they ignore the fact that Kevin Kiermaier is just... plain better than all the commonly mentioned alternatives? Like, a lot better and consistently better. Do you want to buy wins or not? And KK's injury risk, his downside, is mitigated on Toronto because Varsho is such a perfect backup every day CF and there are LF thumper options to plug into LF.
  19. Just trade Bo and plug Clement in there all year.
  20. Ernie Clement can also apparently play a good SS He's actually a stud and I bet every smart GM in the sport has been calling about him
  21. great game nice to see the Jays unload on a s***** LHP Clement and Schneider are a f***ing shot in the arm, they need to play a lot - it is inexcusable for them to not be in the lineup at a minimum of 2/3 of the time, I don't care if they are weak side platoon figure it the f*** out even if you cut into the playing time of guys like KK or IKF or Biggio also nice to see Justin Turner figure it out so quickly, I have never said a bad thing about him ever so it feels good to be rewarded for being a good fan
  22. wdym Turner is a bad 3B Biggio is not a natural OF Schneider is not a natural LF Clement, who knows at SS probably fine but still an unknown Guerrero is just a walking circus in all facets IKF is a clown signing even if he's good at D
  23. Could be a circus on defense holy f***
  24. It's funny (not funny) how Zack Littell is a waiver claim on his 7th org and he's a better SP than the $66 million dollar man Craig Bassitt
  25. Talented young hitter Storied veteran Good infielder with thump vs. gigantic fatty that nobody else wanted, who has been waived 14 times in his career and only made the team because a 42 year old rolled his ankle
