I will indeed flip Manuel Margot to Kats, and select Victor Arano. Sammy and Torontofan can pick whenever to round out the draft. However, their picks need to be made fairly soon. Can't have days going by and new scouting reports coming out and stuff... let's say 48 hours or else the picks expire.

At Hurl's request by email, his 12 hour window for pick 70 will be waived. He doesn't want to hold up the draft and he has no prepared list anyway. Draft will move on without him but he will be free to pick whenever.

I'm dumb. I thought you wanted to pick Boldt right now. If you still own him from last year then yeah, that's totally legal. Kosher even

The rule does say that only players that belong to an MLB parent club can be drafted. boldt clearly doesn't, but drafted and unsigned players before the deadline passes would fall under the "owned" umbrella, I think, because the team owns exclusive negotiation rights at least.

Ooo wait. Not sure if that's cool. Kind of a gray area that hasn't been touched. The whole owning unsigned guys thing really only applies to current year picks that end up not officially signing. At least that was my general understanding. Hmm. Might need a rule tweak. At some point. It's an hour past my bed time though. Zzz.
