As was stated, waiver slot picks became tradeable as soon as 2015 draft picks did. We just forgot to add them to the spreadsheet. They are there now (scroll down!). We will keep that pattern for future years. Next season's Rule 4 and Rule 5 picks will become legal trade chips immediately following the conclusion of our June Rule 4 draft. Next year's rule 5 picks will not become tradeable right after the February rule 5. I don't like the idea of having picks from two different drafts and years in play at the same time. Seems messy.

Guys, I don't think you all realize how enormously gratifying it is to draft a future Blue Jays Ace, graduate him onto your Dynasty league fantasy roster, and then watch him blossom immediately.

I can only speak for myself, but I just found Odorizzi to be extremely underwhelming during his first few times through the league in terms of both stuff and results. The velocity and the K rate weren't really there, and his AAA rate stats only ranged from pedestrian to good. So if anyone else is like me, they might have kind of written him off as something less than he is, and they haven't really been paying attention to him this year especially after the garbage March/April. I just Fangraphs.com'd him for the first time in months and I have to admit, his K rate knocked my buttplug clean out of my anus.

Despaigne probably sucks but really, so does Simon. He's my SP9 and on any half-decent team he's probably not any better than an SP7. And Despaigne is at least young and pitching at Petco. Also, if you've ever seen him throw his repertoire is kind of interesting. Sinker/Cutter up to 94, curve, slower curve, harder slider, weird-grip changeup, and an eephus. He's still very much a "prospect", I think. Remember when the Blue Jays gave up on Henderson Alvarez because his stuff wasn't going to translate into strikeouts? Rule 5 picks should have become tradeable as soon as the Rule 4 picks did. So yeah, you can trade them if you want.

There are dozens of qualified, smart posters who would line up for a spot in the DDL. Keep that in mind the next time you guys want to air out petty, dirty laundry. There's no place for it. That goes to both of you.

Yes, and probably for every team. Still, big diff between guys like Nola/Weaver (2011) and a guy like KB who is possibly the ~3rd best prospect in baseball. Sigh. (Arguably the #1 prospect I suppose? Maybe? I dunno).

I really like the blend on Stroman's repertoire. When a guy throws a cutter, a slider, and a curveball, I think it probably f***s with the capability of the batter to pick up the spin and time the specific pitches. If you can throw a 2 seamer, a change, a 4 seamer, cutter, slider, curve, then you've got an entire spectrum of pitches. A rainbow of speeds and breaks. You can ROYGBIV guys to death. If you throw only three pitches, a FB, curve, and change, then you have very segregated offerings. It might be easier for hitters to pick up those pitches earlier. Of course, having less pitches might mean mastering those specific pitches better.

The comparison isn't Sanchez' curve vs. Stroman's, it's Sanchez' curve vs. Stroman's slider. I think Stroman's biting slider has more utility than Sanchez' curve. It's easier to command, for one thing, and I feel like the slider is just a better pitch in general. You can use it in more situations. With the curve, you can try to freeze a guy with it or have it finish out of the zone and induce a swinging strike. With the slider, you can backdoor it more effectively, you can try for whiffs both down and away (in to lefties), and you can also throw it in the zone looking for weak contact. Stroman sets up his secondary pitch much better too, with far superior command and control of his fastball, but that's another matter.

Pretty sure MLB teams have PitchFX data at the college level these days. Publicly available, no.
