  1. I really disagree strongly that the potential availability of a guy or two like CJ Edwards would have made people value their draft picks more highly. Actually, I'll go as far as saying that it had no effect at all.
  2. Not really sure what to do about this Micah Johnson thing. I think it's fairly clear that jaysblue meant to take Micah, but there's no way of knowing that and it really is the same type of goof as Spanky accidentally drafting the wrong Peralta. He said Michal, it was interpreted is Michael (a prospect at the same position in the same org), and he didn't speak up about it until now. Seems like a fairly inconsequential player so I think we'll just step aside and see which one of jaysblue or No49 is the bigger man, and is willing to sacrifice the bum. If No49 gives him up then he can make another rule 5 pick right now.
  3. I like it but we might have to vote on it. Maybe.
  4. Decided not to put everyone on waivers because that gives the teams with low waiver priorities an advantage - less to lose when they put a claim on some bum that they like. We'll just do the 24 hour thing, that way it's kind of fair for all teams. Unless you won't be near a computer at the grand outhouse opening, then you're f***ed!
  5. I guess it matters if people have NA's and DL's and there are still some speculative holds guys available. I suppose I'll just throw everyone on waivers for a day or two after the last pick.
  6. I dunno. I guess we could. Not even sure how to put all FA's on waivers without f***ing something up. Maybe Dinger knows.
  7. We have not decided unless I'm forgetting... What we'll do is say nobody can make an add for 24 hours after the last Rule 5 selection (rounded to the closest whole hour). We won't bother actually putting the remaining players on waivers, unless people think we should. So if the last pick is made tomorrow at 3:12 pm, people can start adding dickbags on Friday at 3 pm. I'll send out an email to announce the free agency opening time, once it becomes known. The penalty for adding a player early = lose the player, and your current waiver priority slot gets knocked down by 10.
  8. Is he just gonna stick to porn from now him? Him and Taylore Cherry?
  9. I think you meant to say "Goins".
  10. Gibroni picked! Silvergun is up. Finish line is in sight.
  11. Warning: If you keep playing around with numbers out of curiosity, eventually running into sabermetrics is unavoidable. Continue at your own risk.
  12. FFS doorknobs, email whoever is up next after you make your pick. The Darrells can't send out 100 notification emails. We have real lives. Being said, emails are a courtesy and not an obligation so if you dont get one when your pick comes up, then just clench your butthole and get over it.
  13. Motte, Hudson, and Venters were all in my top five like twenty picks ago.
  14. Maybe a better, more simple bet - will Goins get 550 PA? (or 500) If he sucks then he won't (in extreme likelihood). If he doesn't blow chunks then he probably will.
  15. The reasons why people aren't and will never be Darrells are for Darrelly eyes only.
  16. Gibbers picks Welington Castillo. A fine choice. Was kind of hoping he'd make it through the draft so I could stash him at some point. Thehurl is still up. Someone email him.
  17. That actually seems like a pretty fair bet. You should really throw a PA cutoff on it though.
  18. Reason #12 why you'll never be a Darrell...
  19. I think they both suck, so I would just take whoever fills the bigger hole on your team. With Peralta, I think you get a 4.xx FIP pitcher that, if you're lucky, Lucroy frames into a 4.00 ERA guy with a middling amount of K's, and below average (for fantasy) OBPA and K/BB. You can get similar pitchers on the waiver wire throughout any given season. Lorenzo Cain could go 10/20 with a 100 wRC+ (think .260/.320/.400), but those are mediocre numbers and CF is not thin in fantasy baseball right now. Honestly, I think you can get more for Peralta than Cain, based on the fact that Peralta is young, seems promising, and SP can get pretty thin in deep leagues. I would continue to shop Peralta but look for something a bit better.
  20. We were talking about popping prospects during the season as soon as they hit AA
  21. There aren't many talents that I'd waste a spot on. I'd take a guy like CJ.E, sure, but I'd value an SP7 over most else. But, my NA slot will also likely be filled with Bauer or Bradley Jr., so that factors into it.
  22. Yeah that's a pretty gross delivery right now. Honestly looks like a right handed Juan Perez, lmao.
  23. I actually meant to address this at some point, so thanks for bringing it up. I guess we need an arbitrary rule. Definition of played = he does enough to register 1 in the 'G' column on baseball reference. So getting in as a pinch runner or defensive sub would suffice. If a player gets promoted to AA and does enough to register a game played ('G' on BR), then they can be added as soon as 3 AM on the next calendar day PST. So 6 AM EST on the next calendar day after the day the AA game in which the player played began. These times were picked so that all games would probably be over.
  24. BR has that s***
  25. Specifically because you asked, twenty four hours. Pick 98 will disappear in 24 hours if you haven't picked someone. And as dinger said, moot point. Free agency is open at some time shortly after the last person picks anyway. I'm thinking midnight after the last person makes their waiver pick, everyone can start adding dudes if they want. I might not bother putting every free agent on waivers.
